I wouldnt be surprised if they cancel the show though, Hearn (and a few others) said ITV are doing an "early bird" special with the PPV and if the early numbers are truly awful they might pull it.

The numbers will be amazing, I reckon less than 50k, we could be talking under 20k depending on the undercard.

£20 for Jr in an IBO "world title" fight against an unknown.

What kind of idiot would pay for that? I am not joking, I wouldn't watch it if it was on free to air ITV 1, its a joke of a "fight". I am still shocked ITV have gone with it.

 

Id probably watch it if free on ITV1. I think you may be overestimating the sales I honestly do. If as suggested undercard is free then you are being asked to pay £20 for that one fight, if so I think 10k be a stretch and probably not even close to that

 

I was being generous and thinking with a good undercard it might be a little better, surely it has to be, you can't charge £20 for Jr Vs Unknown Man.

If it is a good undercard then fighters friends, family, fans will tune in, could at a push the numbers a little but I think you're right.

If I was having a bet on it I'd go with your number rather than mine.

 

Im led to believe it's following UFC model (I don't watch so don't know) of the undercard being free to air, then the main event being PPV

As you say people complain paying £15-17 for a full show so to try and charge £20 for what should be a walkover for Eubank jr is business suicide for me anyway.

I can only see a huge flop. To me it's a massive shame, I know times have moved on but terrestrial tv can make you an absolute superstar. If I had the choice of Sky/BT/or ITV taking out a 3 year contract not PPV on a prospect I'd go ITV everytime.

If they do that, a free to air undercard and PPV main event they are done, game over, it never sells.

Not sure where this ufc model comes from.

UFC do not charge for a main event on ppv. You pay for the whole card.

 

Just what I was told in the gym, like I say I don't watch UFC at all so have no idea how they work. A lad was saying it was a new thing to only charge for main even, somebody else corrected them saying that was the business model used by UFC

 

Tbf to quinlan, no promotion has gone on, as long as u dont count boxing fans talking about it amongst themselves

 

Oh I agree mate, Quinlan has every right to complain but the fact he is giving a shout to Eddie Hearn after all that's gone on is a shocker.

Hearn in his latest IFL interview is shredding the Eubanks. Forget Sky/ITV and all that, I dont think Hearn would help even if he was guaranteed a right earner out of it, out of sheer principle and the fact Sr is calling him out for a face off on Sky's "The Gloves Are Off" LOL

 

I hope so much that this gets pulled. They need to realise that we're not as thick as they think we are!
