England's 'finest' fighter of the Nineties was surely Colin McMillan?

I think for the most part Eubank showed fantastic knowledge if the game there. Some very good analysis although I think he gave Khan a bit too much credit he was pretty fair across the board.

He was spot on with Frochy as well.

As always Atberry, great read and thanks very much.

Now, Eubank Vs Sumbu @ 160; how does it go? ;-)

Chris Eubank used to strut his Saturday night stuff for ITV during his prime.

Tonight, Eubank will be lower profile and perched out of camera shot in his new role of television summariser as ITV resume live coverage of Saturday fights after a gap of almost four years.

ITV went cold on the fight game after the switch of the big stars to Sky television but Liverpool's exciting battler Shea Neary has revived their interest sufficiently to compete with BBC's Match of the Day for viewing figures.

Eubank will be airing his views on "Shamrock Express" Neary defending his WBU light-welterweight title against Argentina's Juan Carlo Villarreal at the 1,500-capacity St George's Hall in Liverpool.

Style-wise, non-stop Neary and Eubank are different fighting individuals. But the former WBO champion has a high regard for Neary.

"He's explosive, obviously come-forward, a two-handed puncher," said Eubank. "Left and right hand very good, very hard. Left and right hook very good, very hard. His body shots are not too bad. But his uppercut needs a bit of work, he needs to relax his shoulders a little more.

"Villarreal can be a man to fight with his brain but, if he's drawn into the fight, I'd say Neary has a very good chance. He's unstoppable, he's relentless. His fitness levels are exceptional."

Kalambay was very much a European style fighter, though with some awkward quirks. Those guys generally have a very hard time against guys who know to keep their head off center and not allow the European style fighter's jab to score because it discourages them from throwing anything else until they land the jab. Eubank was almost impossible to hit with the left hand. Barkley, DeWitt and Sims were the toughest men in boxing but none of them had head movement and all stood too straight, same with McCallum on the night (and against Curry, actually). So I think Eubank would do good and probably edge it, but then again Chris did look horrible if an opponent kept moving to their left, as Kalambay did against McCallum for example.
