Muting a world-class bullshitter was never going to work. The idea itself wasn’t bad, just the wrong guy trying to play the cards. That presser needed fireworks but it completely fizzled out. Even Snr turning up couldn’t save it. They all looked like they knew it was basically a cash-grab heist. Turki probably had Eddie in for a late-night meeting after that, because the whole event is a shadow of the first – totally anti-climactic, everyone looking like they’re just there to pick up an appearance fee. Maybe the weigh-in will finally spark something.
Yeah, I've been thinking about this for a while. It's ridiculous. TNT, Sky Sports and Amazon Prime all had the option for a one off payment. I really wish DAZN never came to the UK, no value for money, constant price hikes, lack of sports, terrible commentators, horrendous customer service, poor streaming quality. Game changed! I'm listening to it on Talk Sport. Not giving any of my money to them.
£24.99 and you get put on a 7 day "trial" subscription that you have to cancel Or £22.99 a month for DAZN gold or whatever its called where you get all the PPVs
I went to the first fight, Was at Wembley next day with City so was down there, tickets were easily available too so wasn't as sold out as first claimed. It was a decent night out, Spurs stadium is a nice venue and view was decent for what we paid, don't fancy it in November though. None of the other lads have shown any interest in going back down to watch it either - half of em were unaware it was on. They need something big today for it to sell.
Exactly. Hearn’s been running around for the last 48 hours shouting about this fight, and then when it actually gets to the conference, he tries to make the whole thing about himself. Snr was the same to a degree. It’s Jnr’s show – all Eddie had to do was play his part and let Chris shut him down, but instead he thought the placards would steal the show and drag the spotlight back onto him. No point going on TalkSport and everywhere else slamming them, then turning up with a script your intern wrote. It’s turning into amateur hour. Just like you said, there was no need for a sequel – same vibes as Haye–Bellew 2 or the Cleverly rematch.
Could kind of understand the Bellew Haye rematch due to Hayes leg falling off first fight. Bellew - Cleverly rematch was a shocker.
Yup, good point. Haye–Bellew 2 at least had an excuse because of the injury. Edit : And what does Haye look like now? That beard he’s rocking… I saw someone say he looks like Charles Bronson, and you can’t unsee it.
It's not even Hearn's show and he's running round desperate to be the star. He was always a pillock but the 'No Context Hearn' thing has gone to his head and made him an absolute narcissist.
Spot on. Money and fame have just made him more of what he always was – it’s a magnifier. Actually hope the weather holds out for the show tomorrow, because it’s absolutely teeming it down in central London right now.
Eubank seems to have made the weight comfortably. The rematch wasn’t needed at all but I wanna see Hen flattened.
He’s exactly the type of guy John Fury goes looking for to prove how hard he is. Just saw Rick between the Azim–Scoby rounds holding up the Rocky belt – he’s like a super-charged, cartoon version of Sunny Edwards
