Whats wrong with facing Kingpin at this stage of his career? He'll get a few rounds out of it at least, and no one half decent is gonna face a 4-0 prospect, so I don't know what people are expecting.

Honestly if it's true and over 8 or 10 rounds then Johnson is perfect matchmaking for Clarke. He's a known durable if slightly unambitious opponent who will give Clarke rounds at a slower pace to ease him into the longer fights and if Clarke goes in with the gameplan of not trying to blast Johnson out of there will be a terrific learning fight. Johnson is durable and although a KO would be eye catching it would serve Clarke better to get all the rounds in.

Also helps that Johnson will show Clarke different looks to anything he's really encountered in the amateurs before. Going to be an interesting if unexciting watch and is a real sign that Boxxer have the long term development of Frazer in mind.

However if it's over 6 it seems like a wasted opportunity.

Good points actually, had no idea how kingpin was these days but looking at him on boxrec still seems to have that durability. Maybe unfair to expect him to be matched tougher after 4 fights, but feel he could be moved a bit quicker than your average.
