eubank jr doesn't look the goods i thought the lad over the weekend worked him over

get ready for the 'he is being matched tough in his 1st few fights'

which in fact,is bollocks,most half decent amatures would beat the guys he has fought so far

 

it's not bollocks though really, didn't he only have twenty four am fights? He is a lot more inexperienced than a lot of other fighters who have recently turned pro.

 

Carruther's couldn't maintain his workrate for the laat couple of rounds although maybe that jr's body shots taking their toll. If he'd been able to i think he could've sneaked the decision.

There's nothing wrong with Eubank Jnr's body shots, he gets very good leverage on his shots. I don't think he wears the right gloves to be a massive punches for his style.

I'm going to look at his career and post something up on the Domestic Prospects Thread. I think he did well against Terry who was in fine form. I had him winning quite clearly although each round was tough.

 

He has been matched perfectly, he's been tested in every fight apart from his debut.

Eubank Jr is young and was inexperienced as an amateur, he needs a few more fights against the likes of Carruthers.

I can't seem him going too far beyond British level but good luck to the lad.

 

I noticed that, his gloves were huge! :-(

 

Fair play. I agree with an earlier poster that he won't go too far beyond domestic level but he was in with a tough journey man in good form imo. Carruthers had just dominated a guy who was 23-2 according to boxrec.

 

Not seen much of him but it seems that he tries to fight to aggressive. Its like hes fight with a style of a puncher when he isnt. He needs to use what he has instead of trying to beat the **** out of guys.

He still looks like a great talent and im sure hell go far. Hes been in a couple of tough fights that will make hi grow as a fighter.

Just give him time, he only had 5 fights as a pro.

 

a lot pro boxers do not have top class am pedigrees, a lot of brit champs, euro champs and world champs do not have top class am pedigrees,a lot do but not all.
And im really sorry chaps but a lad who was brought up with a world class boxer of a dad,lived in america for years,trained in america,im sure i heard he boxed over there in the golden gloves,i could be wrongatsch,it does not make a complete novice boxer,he aint a complete novice boxer not by a long way:think

he has a good array of punchs,basic,but obviously good,but i just can't see him getting anywhere,he is living off his daddys name,if he didnt have his daddys name he would be long :hi::hi::hi::hi::hi::hi::hi:forgotten

 

I think if you look at other boxers labelled as young prospects first 5 fights I would wager they weren't facing superior opponents.

Nobody really knows where this lad is headed, but he's certainly being match at a higher level than Franks last batch of Olympic kids.

 

He's being matched well, at the moment he's looking like British level but he has plenty of time to improve and I believe he will, he will improve strength and punch power with age and experience, cant see him sticking at middleweight. He's a future world champ IMO.

 

I think he's good.

It's alright saying 'wait for people to say about the quality of his opposition...' etc but it has been VERY good for someone of his age and experience.

Out of curiosity I just checked out the first 5 fights of Froch, Hatton and Brook.

Brook's first 5 had about 400 losses between them, Froch's 150+, Hatton also people with very much losing records (although one notable exception - Robert Alvarez, an exception because his record is slightly better than his other early opponents, but mainly because it was at Maddison Square Garden).

Everyone says how different the pro game is, yet someone like Eubank is given so little chance to adjust to it. For me, he's beaten each of his opponents clearly (although definately given a challenge) and many of these fights have been against decent fighters who have by and large been afforded something they normally aren't - good notice of the fight! (something I think Snr said he wanted to do, to make it harder). He has loads still to work on obviously, but got potential.

 

Too harsh. Give him a chance - he is being matched well right now.
