20 + Amateur fights is enough...

    Amateur fights are overrated.

Most amateurs are completely ****ed by the time they go pro! What is the point in having over 100 amateur fights...? Some fighters leave the best form in the amateurs.

Some silly comments in this thread IMO. I think Widdy will be proved completely wrong if I'm honest.

Look at Eubank Sr's interviews, he's always talking about how beneficial his first few fights were, how they were very tough and against many styles. He's attributes this to his success. If I'm not mistaken he wasn't blowing these guys away either.

The opponents have better records than the guys other prospects face, they also are given more notice. I think Eubank Sr wants to avoid complaceny from Jr and thats why he is making sure he gets a variety of tough matches, early on. Eubank Sr would be more worried if he KO'd them all first round as Jr would get all James Degale and think he's the dog's when he really isnt!

I think its perfect and think he'll go far. Its all going to plan perfectly.

Not that his Daddy deserves to be a name or anything.

Snr was a talentless punk too. It's a genetic thing.

 Yeah totally talentless. Which doesn't say much for Nigel Benn and Michael Watson does it? Benn must be an utter bum.

Not at all like a stuck record. You don't need to make the same point in every Eubank Jr thread. You don't like his dad, therefore he son must be ****. We get it, it isn't a subtle point you are making. :patsch

Good point. Pop took 28 months to get to his 6th fight and first KO, Jr has been pro for 8 months.

Worth repeating that, Jr has been a pro for 8 months and is already being written off despite being matched at a higher level than most new pros.

Not totally talentless, but almost completely so. Snr actually became a more refined boxer than he had any right to be going by his first 10 fights. He must have got there via hard work. Fair play.

... ****ing great isn't it... 5 fights in and people are already setting expectations. If he blew everyone out in the 1st round, people would be moaning, saying he wouldn't be doing his development and good... he needs rounds etc.

Live and let live, let the kid develop, and come back and judge him when he's either won a title of some sort, or lost. What's wrong with that? Give the ****er a chance before ripping him to pieces... he's got no power, he get's hit, his gloves are too big, he's got a lisp... ****ing pathetic, really.

Roger Mayweather said it best... most people don't know **** about boxing...

Too much amateur experience = too many bad habits.

A successful amateur career still seems to provide a meal ticket for the pro ranks, when the two sports are nothing alike other than the basic idea that you're supposed to hit the other bloke more than he hits you.

I don't think he'll go all that far, but it certainly won't be because he lacks amateur experience.

if he was not in the limelight, was not acting the **** in the ring and trying to act like daddy and basically making so many mistakes i wouldnt be scared to get in the ring with him ,then maybe he would go by unnoticed and people like myself would not judge him.

But he is doing all them things above and people will judge him so get off ya high high horse sweetcheeks:crybby

I always think you can tell special talents from day one and mate if you think he is world champ material or even euro champ material i think uncle roger was talking about you :hi:

Exactly, I think its fair to say Eubank's doing quite well for a novice. Look at other guys who are just starting, some guys only fight debutants or those with next to no wins for their first few!

He has alot to live upto, but probably none of the drive. Jr has grown up with daddys money and not had to struggle like a great deal of fighters.
