Interesting to hear Eubank Jr say that he signed a Matchroom contract to fight DeGale next but then goes on to say that even though Matchroom wanted the fight, DeGale personally pulled out.

I'm not sure I believe Eubank given his track record of not following through on fights, but it's very interesting that he specifically says he signed a Matchroom contract for the fight which leads me to believe the fight would have been on Sky.

What are people's thoughts on this?

I like James, but I'm not liking what I'm hearing from him lately about him deserving more than 50% vs Groves and now this...

Did Senior come up with insane demands again?!

I trust the Eubanks as far as I can trow them.

You cannot believe anything these clowns say.

DeGale schools him, why would he not want the fight.

I struggle to believe them to be honest, I'm sure Hearn would have said something had this been the case. Degale is injured still anyway isn't he?

Thanks, thought that was the case.

To be honest, if the surgery keeps him out for a long time I wouldn't be shocked at all if Groves retired.

For someone that's not allowed in the room for negotiations seems to know a lot.

And when have these two ever signed a contract that doesn't favour them in every way and I can't see Hearn and Degale bending over to give the Eubanks what they want. If Degale says groves doesn't deserve 50/50 (rightly or wrongly) no way they they would offer Eubank 50/50. Them deluded pair would want 75/25 in their favour.

I wonder exactly whenever degales shoulder went and why he didn't get it sorted earlier.

It didn't look like he had any problems in his last fight with anything that he hadn't before - he was the same slappy 4 round fighter that he's always looked.

The Eubanks are prob lying again so I'd take that with a dump truck of salt but JDG's recent claim that he deserves the lions share against a fellow title holder who has already beaten him and was considered unlucky not to get the W over the guy that just smashed his teeth out shows that he's just as big a dick as he ever was.

I doubt eubank jr is telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth but degale thinks he is a sugar ray Jones jr hybrid, the guy is a complete bellend that got battered off badou jack in his last fight. I don't care for his big mouth trainer either, so I will be rooting for whoever he is fighting whether its eubank, groves or anyone else.

It only takes a couple of fights to change the whole trajectory of a career.

Brook fought 32 bums and struggled with many of them, then he beats Porter and he's a p4p superstar
Terrible beatings at the hands of GGG and Spence and he needs to retire.

This time next year Jr could be one of the P4P best in the UK if not the world, it only takes 1 fight to silence the critics.

The thing you clowns don't seem to mention is Jr is great to watch, he's an excting fighter and puts on a show.

Fans don't want to see blokes running all night like Degale or fighting scared like Groves, unless they are fighting someone who meshes well with their style or the fight is meaningful.

Jr can fight anyone and be entertaining, you can't even argue that point. He is one of the most entertaining fighters on the planet.

    Jr "he (DeGale) pulled out..."

I've got to the point with the Eubanks when I see them on screen I wish Sr pulled out.. And Sr's Father too.

The Eubanks bring on the hate but I honestly think a lot of you are reading a potential fight with Degale wrongly. IMO Eubank is a nightmare opponent for Chunky. A high output, non-stop combination puncher who grows over the 12 rounds versus a first three-rounds fighter who ALWAYS fades late on...

Eubank wins this fight. Degale would be slick and probably win the first quarter of the fight but he doesn't pack a punch. Eubank has proven he has a pretty solid chin, he eats punches for days. IMO he stops Degale late or makes him quit.

Anyway we'll find out if all of this is true when IFL next interview Eddie. Probably today at the Burnett final press conference. He tends to be very open about fight negotiations, openly said Warrington turned down the Selby fight when he was still promoting Josh.

    What?
Groves has finally won a world title, why would he retire?
there's plenty of other big fights for him, he's already beaten degale, he doesn't need to fight him.
He can fight, smith, eubank, ramirez and more.
