This is poor from Degale and I am semi doubting the veracity of his shoulder injury because he showed no signs of a hurt shoulder against Jack. He's ducking Eubank, especially if Matchroom and Sky are pushing for the fight which Eddie has suggested. Maybe Eubank really did get the better of him in their infamous sparring session. I've said in this thread that I think Eubank is totally wrong style wise for Degale.

Don't forget about David Benavidez. He may be the best out of the lot in years to come, although he still needs that one big W on his record.

You realise that DeGale has never made over a million in ANY of his fights right?

    Purses for DeGale vs Jack
    DeGale - $750,000 (£615,602)
    Jack - $700,00 (£550,011)

There are only a handful of fighters in the UK commanding 1Mill+ purses, generally you have to be headlining a PPV event to get that sort of dough unless you are a Deontay Wilder type fighter who only gives his opponents $10k.

See, you are actually comparing 'big money' with 'record breaking money'......Froch V GG Wembley 80,000 spectators.

Very few British boxers earn 7 figures the last few years. At the moment only AJ , Haye (v) Bellew, GG, Brook have that pull. Not sure Frampton will be up there nor Khan now. Only other fella who could maybe gatecrash a 7 figure payday is Eubank jr....eventually.

To most boxers, getting a 6 figure payday is 'a dream' and 'big money'.
