They have delayed the fight though?
It is probably more of a factor how long they can delay it?

    When will Groves be ready?

Anytime before August and Groves can feel hard done by IMO, but if its the end of the year then Smith can probably feel the same. Smith needs to get active, he can't have his career stalled for Groves.

Groves can fight with an injury if he really wants to, there is a saying that no boxer ever enters the ring without some form of niggle.

Whoever wins it will be a very hollow victory.

I thought Groves only asked for a month - at least, that was the report right after the Eubank Jr fight? A month would be reasonable, but like you say if it's the end of the year then Team Smith would be in the right to demand an earlier date.

That being said, I have to admit that I really don't know the full details of why the WBSS are apparently not going to allow a delay. Did Groves ask for more time than a month? What's the latest Team Smith are OK with? Hopefully tomorrow's announcement clears this up and hopefully it's still Groves vs Smith.

Sometimes the biggest fans can be the harshest critics

I was only upset because I know Jr could have done better, and it was a case of not risking it all to get the win.
He wasn't aggressive enough, and his work rate was poor (by his standards, he actually threw as many punches as Groves maybe a little more). Every round was close but Groves won most of them, every round Groves won Jr could have nicked if he had the balls imo. He just hung back too much, it was as if he was intimidated/scared?

Honestly I had it 117-111 Groves, a point either way is acceptable ie 116-112 or 118-110

    I couldn't make an argument for 115-113 or 119-109

I think he just ran out of ideas and was probably shocked by Groves’ power. He’d probably seen Groves fade or “gas” in previous fights and felt it was just a matter of time before he could catch him exhausted on the ropes.

The worst post I've read in a while. Funny that with Eubank doing so much more damage to Groves that he was the one knocked down multiple times. Maybe Groves suddenly has an iron chin.

I'm pretty sure he didn't beat his shoulder into dislocating either.

Young Christopher has been working on a unique tactic where he cunningly 'catches' incoming jabs on his chin.

Smith will doubtless tire as the fight continues at which point Christopher engages warrior spirit mode and for the championship rounds this enables him to catch twice as many jabs on his stupid gormless mush.

He dislocated his shoulder with seconds to go in the fight. Fighters have had shoulders dislocated and put back in place between rounds and continued with the fight.

Groves wants six months or more to recover. It's not the shoulder.

Lo he’s been working that odd looking punch bag shaped like an opponent only hours after his loss to Groves.
If ever there were a case for their being a difference to fighting punch bags that don’t hit back and live opponents that do then Jnr is the epitome of that.
Actually just realised that Jnr spent some time at the Mayweather gym where they too love their punch bag routines.Think of Broner with his head down pitty, patting the punch bag and you’ve got in one.
Having Jnr in the final instead of Groves would turn what was a great format into an all out farce.

Just as long as it’s not touted as the final I’m ok with it but to suggest Jnr could win the damn thing is just crazy and will only feed Jnr delusion that he beat Groves imo.

This tourney has lost all credibility if Groves is removed. This is some BS. Groves was supposed to win it all, and then lose to Golovkin in Triple G’s retirement fight.

The system is screwing the God of war every time.
