That win over Geale needs context though. He went from a 157 catchweight to a fight at 168 after a very long layoff, then retired right after. That was a shot to ****, end of life Daniel Geale. As a headliner for a PPV, this is abysmal. As just a testing the waters fight at 168, it's OK. Really odd move by ITV

Pay a tenner to watch this joke of a fight, or stick hot needles under my fingernails ?

Guess i'll have to call in to the haberdashery after work.

Agree with what everyone else is saying about this being a shambles.

If this is the best ITV can come up with for a PPV then Eddie has nothing to worry about because this fight isn't going to sell well at all. ITV & Eubank are well over estimating their market ability here, fighting for a joke belt against a no name on PPV? GTFO!

I actually had to look Quinlan up, turns out he's the guy that upset (of the year candidate) a shot Geale recently.
Before that he had never even beaten a top100 ranked guy.

Would be funny if he could upset Eubank Jr too and derail his career.

Of course. The Eubanks feel they are way bigger than they actually are. I can see why networks look at him as a star for the future as his persona alone will make people love and hate him but without serious fights he can't be a star.

Both Eubank and Saunders career have just nosedived into the ground. Every other area of British boxing is thriving except, sadly, our top two middleweights who seem more interested in talking about each other rather than fighting anybody at all.

I don't think Eubank or Saunders will fight anyone credible in 2017 which is a shame as the year hasn't even started yet.

100% neither of these guys fight GGG.

I get where your coming from there are too many already. But at least they use stats to rank fighters rather than who gives them the biggest back handers

Almost looks like some kind of april fools joke! Silly fight to kick their ppv off with. Chris eubanks is pretty much hated by everyone. The opponents not been heard of either by your average man on the street.

Makes it look like another get rich quick scheme. Why cant itv invest in him on the back of making the big money down the line. Theres money to be made out of boxing. What happens is they try this dont make the money their expecting then say people arent interested in boxing on itv. When the truth is it couldnt be further from the truth.

Just looks like greed from all parties. Sign him up on a five fight deal. Put a few on for free. Re market him. Then when the interest and the big fights are there stick him on ppv. Its not exactly rocket science. Maybe missed the boat with eubanks cause he ll be demanding decent wedge nowadays. But theres plenty of guys out there that maybe werent good enough for matchroom/boxnation etc that could be signed up early put them on free and see if one or a few can become stars. That dave allen fought for something like 15 grand against ortiz last week. Tyson fury wasnt exactly commanding millions when he started off. Guys like crolla/ricky burns were the same.

Get guys that have maybe been overlooked...match them well hype them up then see what can happen. No ones demanding haye v joshua on itv. How about just getting some form of boxing back on first and see where it takes you.

I ll reserve judgement till i see the full details but do people really buy ppv,s cause they hate someone and want to see them get beat. I think its a bit of a myth. Worked for mayweather...but mayweather was an extremely talented guy...was marketed brilliantly after he left bob arum fought big names plus america is a pretty big market place. I can see how people would watch a card to see them get beat but to actually pay out money just in the hope they lose when your not paying to watch anyone else is a bit much imo. Eubanks is pretty much hated by everyone...including the majority of casuals. Decent addition to a card but never as a headliner atm.

its no wonder Eubank senior went bankrupt...he is deluded in every aspect of life and Jr will obviously end up in the same boat
