Eubank Jr v George Groves WBA/IBO unification 2017

Groves has failed every time he's stepped up to this "top level" you talk about. I get what you are saying though, Groves is a very talented fighter with an immense jab. He'll beat Chudinov and get his world title though. He's still only 28 and has a lot left to give.

All this talk of Eubank having a "great chin" as well is based purely on what his dad was like. What punchers has CEJ ever been in with? None. Nobody knows if he has a good chin or not and Groves is hardly a banger either even at a higher weight.

Groves easily wins UD, though. He's way too good for CEJ.

 

Tbf Eubank took mega shots from Spike flush on the chin and was barely budged. Spike is no world beater but clearly hits hard (destroyed Fitzgerald who went the distance with Lee, who is easily top 5 biggest punchers at MW).

I think it's fair to say Eubank has a solid chin.

 

Eubank should not have lied to Golovkin about their fight, he chickened out..................I hope Groves beats him, don't like him nor his crazy father...........

 

Unify titles neither have won yet ?!

 

People talk about Groves failing every time he's stepped up to fight for a world title. On paper they are absolutely correct, but I think proper fans of boxing will respect that this kid jumped in the ring with Carl Froch who's probably one of the very few, genuine, all time greats of British boxing. With more experience he could have won that first fight. He outclassed Froch for the first half of the fight. He certainly wasn't out of Froch's league.

The second time he didn't quite deliver but again, there wasn't this huge gulf in class, stamina yes but not class.

In the third fight, if he hadn't have took that daft flash knockdown in first round then things could have been very different but we all saw against Degale the quality and grit Jack has.

I think Groves is coming into his prime now and them defeats were as silly as it sounds, much needed in teaching him a few things not just about boxing but about maturity & not acting the tool.

In my opinion, a much more experienced, battle hardened Groves would jab Junior's head off all night for a UD.
