Eubank suprisingly looked like a seasoned veteran against Yank gatekeeper Smith, dominating each round and showing the equipment to mix it with the very best - a far cry from this fight in the vids.
Chris Eubank came up the hard way, he was cleaning the boxing gym.."Just to earn money...and eat".......... Chris Eubank stuck to the course and came through it..! Great Winners only care about results.....
5th fight against a southpaw? I can think of certain hyped fighters looking much worse in easier situations in thier 5th fights, some of them even turned out to be pretty good
Eubank had many bad nights. And many good nights. It's clear he was very much an unfinished product at this point but you can see his talent...
He went through a lot of trainers in New York - they all stopped working with him because they couldn't handle him anymore. Andy Martinez, Luis Camacho, Maximo Pierret, Patrick Ford and Lenny DeJesus - all respected trainers. His manager wouldn't let him fight because he wasn't settling with a trainer. Ronnie Davies was probably the only 'trainer' in the world who'd put up with the guy.
I have always read he wouldnt settle but what were the reasons ? Did he not like to listen or not turn up etc ? Cheers again atberry :good
The guy deserves props man he is a real warrior. Nothing got handed to him he ****ing earned his stripes and titles. Came up the hard way and survived.
Eubank = Meh. Mind you, the person who has come up with this footage deserves seriously epic kudos. It's prettty cool looking at the embryonic stages of one's career. Also, something I find seriously amusing about this is that he actually looks better coming forward here than in his prime. He throws straight punches far more consistently here and he's actually able to show better defense on the front foot with his bobbing and weaving. One more thing: http://boxrec.com/media/index.php?title=Fight:2306 The ESPN commentator scored the fight for the opponent? Strange....
