    Who had Lacy beaten? Pemberton, Sheika and Reid IIRC.

    He was massively overrated and Calzaghe a bit underrated, mainly because he hadn't fought anyone of any real quality for years.

    So all-in-all, with performance duly noted, a good win. But not the incredible win it seemed at the time. Lacy WAS overrated.

    I think what me and Will mean isn't saying Lacy's a great fighter but he went from a beast and a real threat and IIRC a favorite betting wise to beat Joe to a guy who was absolute **** cos of performances after. The hindsight effect makes a lot of wins look poor when at time it was a achievement.

    I don't think he was that good i wasn't overly impressed when he beat Reid but i believe he did share one thing that Tyson had and it weren't his punch it was his beast mentality that scared fighters and that undefeated feeling that aura. That night Joe stripped him of his pride and his dignity and ended his career mentally and wasn't to long before physically he was a wreck.

    And Reid and Sheika were shot, Reid to smithereens in fact (just see his six-rounder prior, feet bolted to the canvas)... I thought he looked **** against grossly average Pemberton, arcing all his punches and arching his musclebound body, slow and ponderous and wide open to be peppered... I predicted Calzaghe would land at will and dazzle him with his footwork and combinations. I predicted right. It was clear as day.

    When i watched the build up i sat there and thought 'he don't look at good, Calzaghe can win this'. As you said dazzle him, I only ever saw the Reid fight and i didn't think it was impressive.

    Many though got dragged into the hype and the fact Joe didn't have massive fights. Enzo told Joe 3 weeks before fight when Joe talked of pulling out with hand injury 'he's **** you can beat him even with a bad hand'. He was spot on!.

    Eubank is class man, love reading what he has to say.

    I tell you what though, if only every Brit or even Boxer full-stop took on allcomers like The Cobra has just done then Boxing would be a bigger and better Sport.

    Lacy was one of the most over hyped fighters in history.
