    “Not even Roy Jones, rated as the best pound-for-pound fighter in history by some writers, would take that fight even when it was mandated to.”

    -- Nunn was his mandatory in 97-98

    They waited until Joe was past his best before they fought him. Remember Calzaghe agreed to fight them, they backed out of fighting him. Dont try and rewrite history

    Explain your term elite level, because other than perhaps Toney, who had a terrible SMW resume and SDs and lucky decisions, what elites was Jones fighting?
    Hopkins wasnt elite then, he was a nobody who had no world title experience and couldnt win a world title in his 2nd attempt either.
    McCallum wasnt elite then, he had lost to Toney, but also lost to Tiozzo not ong before
    Hill was coming straight off a loss from Michalczewski.
    So how do you define elite level? Title belts?

    :lol::patsch

    Yeah sure! I dont understand why you guys debate, there is always a proof for the others argument. Calzaghe is either a person who ducked the best competition while they were prime, or no one cared to fight him because he was seen as a nobody. It's not rewriting history, its just history has more than your side and agenda. For instance, someone like RJJ doesnt get the benefit of the doubt by you, it is never the other fighters fault that fights didnt happen, but RJJ fault. This is okay because it fits your agenda, but if it is calzaghe then its everyone elses fault, but not his own. You see how that works, how being a fanboy filters everything to support your fanboyism?

    Look I dont blame Roy for not wanting to fight Calzaghe. Jones was a HW before Calzaghe even fought B Mitchell, so I dont blame Jones, but he was called out. I dont blame Jones for wanting the HW title.
    In the case of Hopkins it was a blatant pull out.

    Do you want to see the links and details? If not, stop whinging like a wimp and pull yourself together

    oh what ****ing idiot is claiming that Roy waited for Joe Calzaghe to age before daring to face him...despite Jones being years older than Joe..was Roy banking of someday finding the Fountain of Youth in Peru so that he could return to his twentysomething years? UTTER ****WIT.
    Even with this spelt out the dumbass troll will still claim he in the right whilst being completetly wrong.

    jeez guys dont feed the ****ing Calzaghe troll.

    Eubank does :D Nice with a new perspective, is it not?

    And leats not forget how Hopkins blatantly pulled out 2002 :-(

    The greatness of Joe Calzaghe grows for every new day.
