Eubank Sr: Canelo is #1 P4P! Collins toughest man in history!

I m not sure that last bits true twenty. Go back if you get the chance and watch benn. Eubank. Roy jones junior. James toney. Mcclellan. Mccallum guys like that then watch the current crop. Its like night and day in terms of skill.

Sports science has had its advantages. I m a beilever in sport science but not to the extent they ve pushed it. Not when i m seeing guys that cant do things the guys from years ago could. Benn would have battered froch. Same with eubank for me. Same with groves degale and all the guys like that. It would have probably been brutal.

 

Is Eubank on drugs? He appears to be nuts!

Void lost to Castillo and Oscar, good thing he always owns the judges, referee and boxing commission................that's how you win fights, cheat, it's as simple as that..........

 

Agree with bulldog. Also think the guys from years back...we,re actually training boxing. Nowadays its who can lift the most weights or who,s best on a treadmill and when it comes to the boxing...its all a big strategy to beat the given opponent. Its resulting in a generation of boxers that cant really box. There succesful but its more based on strength/fitness/being relentless. Different ways to skin a cat not saying its time to revert back...but a lot of these guys today are pretty much one trick ponies. Good one trick ponies but thats about it. Most of the guys back then could do it all. Had good jabs. Could pretty much use any punch. Had good movement. Most could box as well as fight. Could mix it up. Could pick shots. Could punch on the move. Could move any way they wanted. Could use footwork to get out the way etc. Had good head movement. The guys nowadays are limited in their skill in comparison.

 

Take a look at the fitness levels these days. Most of these guys were completely out on their feet by the 10th. They would get taken apart in the later rounds by the current generation of boxers.

As great as these guys were (and i'm a massive fan of this era of boxing) none of them get past S.O.G.

 

What i m saying tho is take pretty much anyone from that list and compare their boxing skills to andre wards. Its like night and day. What does ward do well. Is his jab brilliant. Can he punch in combinations. Can he move every direction. Does he have a good variety of punches. Can he fight on the move. Hows his head movement. Things like that. Then compare it to the guys on the list.

I watched khan on the speed ball before canelo...he looked like a novice on it. These guys nowadays are barely boxers in comparison. They ve manipulated weight to perfection scientifically. Their strong. fit. Learned how to nullify the opposition. But in terms of boxing skillsits its went back so much imo.

 

Eubank Sr avoided James Toney, RJJ and a couple of others.

Jr avoided Golovkin, Jacobs and a Saunders rematch.


I liked Sr, I enjoyed the show but there is a pattern with the Eubanks and a lot of people are just ignoring it.

I find it hard to listen to either of them any longer, sad really because like I said I enjoyed a lot Sr's career and had high hopes for Jr, they just disappoint me now.

 

I'm afraid your wrong there mate...Billy is full of it, he had no interest in GGG..The presser for Jnr v Saunders where he told Jnr " Your deluded, GGG would beat me and you on the same night"..Around that time Saunders was not looking for Golovkin, never ever shouted about him, not like he did with Canelo, turning up to pressers shouting insults..Like Canelo, after the small success Brook had against him then the Jacobs result, which was close, he started getting brave. I actually think BJS could've ud'd GGG the last 3/4 years, but he never thought it himself

 

Truth. Howard Eastman sparked him in training and that was enough for him to say "i'm done"

 

Yeah, I remember the presser, bud. You’re right, he did say in an interview a few years back that he was waiting till GGG hit 35/36 before taking him on. I also think he could have UD’d him if he faced him but unfortunately we’ll never know now. He messed it up.
