Also mate, the GGG that Macklin fought had speed, wasn't hesitating wasn't thinking too much, just pressured. People will read this and say its the opposition, but im on about GGG physically. He looks like he could grind to a halt at this stage compared to back then !

 

There’s definitely been a decline in GGG imo although the fella is still elite level. I said before the 2nd Canelo fight that I felt that GGG had faded in the last 3 rounds of his fights with Jacobs (lost last 3 rounds) and Canelo 1 (lost last 3 rounds). In hindsight, I wonder if he was aware of this in the rematch and took a few rounds off in the middle (when he looked absolutely done in) so he could finish the fight strongly.

 

Yes, I think he has to pace himself to finish strong these days..They know what he can get away with and what he cant at this stage. He wont go the body against a faster fighter anymore, he cant, good ring iq to go another route. Talk of him moving up from Sanchez is just that, he's knocking on the door of retirement. Ive seen enough of GGG over the years to know that Jacobs fight shouldn't be going the distance or making it close

 

Yes it was more a collapse than a ko....Eastman didn’t ko him...his specialist at the time thought or suggested that it was scar tissue from an old injury that had hardened and was pressing on his brain. Subsequent scans have apparently shown no damage at all.. so it remains a mystery collapse.

 

So Eubank Snr wanted an answer on why Collins never fought Calzaghe, how come Collins never mentioned it when they were all at the table(the british super middles) that time talking ??? Snr was alluding to Collins losing his bottle, when it was a serious condition that made him pull out? I'm a bit sceptical on this, he was in the ring with Eastman, he collapsed suddenly without being hit then ??? I have heard Collins say he woulda beat Roy Jones because he was "bigger boned" before lol...A part of me thinks its blarney and Collins undoubtedly one of the hardest men to grace the ring was at the end and his chin was cracking

The plan as I recall was this warm up fight against I don’t know who ...then calzache...then Jones...but he collapsed sparring Eastman , tibbs was there as trainer.....prob others too...specialist at the time thought or suggested that it was scar tissue from an old injury that had hardened and was pressing on his brain. Subsequent scans ...Steve I think has a precautionary scan every year have apparently shown no damage at all.. so it remains a mystery collapse. But Steve got a fright as did tibbs and took it as a warning and retired for good.

It must have been scary to rattle tibbs and Collins..two fairly tough customers to say the least.
