Close was a good neat boxer with world class pedigree against Maske and Dariusz in the ams. Schommer was a mismanaged fighter with am wins over Virgil Hill and Tim Littles, a stockbroker who did boxing on the side, and southpaw

Nobody else was rushing to face these guys. Nunn turned them both down when WBA champion

It’s impossible. European champion was always highly ranked, and Wharton was ranked #1 with WBC and WBO at the time of Benn-Eubank II and was paid £500,000 by Don King

Eubank was the first to admit he used boxing as a business to feed his egotistical lifestyle first and foremost. He was always adamant he would never dodge the mandatory challenger, and never did. It seemed he was fighting every 6-7 weeks!

Virgil Hill and Henry Maske were Olympic medalists, not to be snuffed at. Maske certainly a better amateur boxer than Roy Jones Jr

Close as a pro has one decent win, over Nardiello and that was as a result of a clash of heads,You fought Close in the spring of 94 he wasnt ranked until the end of the year, presumably on the basis of his split dec loss to you. What kind of money would any of them have brought to the table in a fight with Nunn? Amateur wins? What did they do in the pros?

Barry Hearn (or Warren) was nowhere near as bright as Mickey Duff or the US promoters, giving Benn and Eubank many potential banana skins.

Duff was a boxing man through and through, he was Levene's matchmaker neither Hearn nor Warren know a tenth of what he had forgotten.

    Different ball game.
Nunn fought his share of dross at Super Middle.

Yeah. One of the four bodies. Tony Thornton was ranked 1, 1, 2 & 2 for instance.
