I don't use the expression BUM and I qualified my use of the word tomato can saying," for want of a better expression.
    "Also rans" how's that?
ps I managed to lay gloves on a couple of these guys in sparring, but maybe they just wanted me to feel good?

Collins beat Thornton far easier than Eubank did.

Tony woke up sick on the morning of that fight. Still I preferred his aggression and compactness over Collins’ movement and lack of telling blows.

I’m pretty sure Collins needed 40+ stitches after the TT fight. Easy night.

Giminez fought a war with Roldan in front of 65k in Argentina, had Roberto Duran down in the 1st round and claimed he was robbed against the Italian in Italy.

This was no mug. He was Ricky Hatton’s height and as strong as anything. Had Benn in trouble a few times as a substitute a few years later.

    Eubank jabbed his head off.

I honestly think Eubank could have been anything he wanted to be, he always just seemed to do enough he was so conservative with his output.
The thing is everything was there, the skill, power, durability.
The trouble was he thought he knew best I mean did he ever listen to his trainer?
He just doesn’t seem to be the type of fella who would take advice.
Imagine if a top guy like a Steward or Futch had got a hold of him and he decided to listen?

He claimed at the time that Ronnie Davies was his ‘overseer’, not his trainer. “I employ him to oversee. It’s me training him, not the other way round.”

Davies says Eubank often used to enter the ring totally drained to the limit from leaving all his weight making late, and that much of the posturing during a contest was actually Eubank conserving his energy.

I know he respected Steward immensely.

I think Eubank figured out rather early that if he did it the regular way there was a good chance he would end up punch drunk and broke.
Like him or hate him Eubank did it his way and it paid off.
He really is pretty interesting if you listen to him. He knew how brutal boxing was and the odds of him ending up with nothing so he changed it up.
