Eubank was tough, toughest of the 80's and 90's? Er no. Not even close, I can think of maybe 30-40 fighters that were tougher, just off the top of my head. Eubank needs to chill, and retire in peace, it's his son's turn in the spot light if he makes it.
Yeah, let them take the kind of punishment Eubank took in Benn I, Watson II, Calzaghe and Thompson I, and carry on fighting back full-throttle. Benn was the hardest hitter out there at the time, Watson landed about 750 punches as hard as he possibly could, and Thompson was 30+lbs of lean mass heavier and had free right hands when Eubank's left eye closed after six....
Eubank misses boxing, and he is frustrated probably. It happens. Many boxers are upset they are not in the spotlight anymore. Larry Holmes had the same problem a little.
it's all opinion but the guys i've mentioned have taken serious blows. saad muhammad against lopez x2, kates, conteh, qawi x2 and marvin johnson x2 hagler against everyone else in the fab four, plus his early fights against philly legends eugene cyclone hart and bad benny briscoe, as well as john mugabi, who was an undefeated knockout artist when he faced marvin duran against hagler, barkley and leonard x2 (no mas was out of frustration) leonard against every other member of the fab four and his final shining moment against lalonde and most of all holyfield, against qawi, a seasoned banger while evander was in just his 12th fight, the greatest cruiserweight fight ever and one of the last 15 round fights ever, dokes, stewart, foreman, cooper, holmes, bowe x3, moorer x2, mercer, tyson x2, and lewis x2, only to be still fighting today, all while being naturally the much smaller guy most of the time. he without a doubt outshines eubank in the area of toughness.
Some fair points there but Benn was not the hardest hitter at the time, that was a man named Julian Jackson.
Yes he is, when has Floyd ever shown anything less than a warrior's mentality in the ring? He always finds a way to win! Never gives in, and refuses to lose no matter what.
