think its the difference in their ideal weights that he means. Eubank is best at MW/SMW, facing a 220lber hes giving up a massive amount in weight that he can effectively use. Its like putting Pacman in with Carl Froch, Froch will pound on the brave little blighter.

I understand but you have to also look at the caliber of fighter. Pac is a much greater fighter and was already weighing in as a WW on fight night. Also, Morales best weight was 122 and he still goes up to LWW to fight a beast in Maidana when Morales was considered shot to hell.

At the time Thompson was a good CW champ and remember years later when Thompson was shot he beat undefeated D Haye who became the WBO WBC WBA Ring CW unified champ. Thompson was the only fighter to beat Haye at CW and the only fighter to ever stop Haye.

Thompson was massive compared to Eubank and a solid muscular power puncer, harder hitting than any CW today that I can think of.
Which SMW today would be able to go up and give such a challenge that Eubank did. Imagine Ward against M Huck. Thompson was ar harder hitting than Huck and alot stronger, to give an example

I know but going toe to toe with Pac x3, Barrera x3 and giving young lions four weight division north of your prime weight when you're shot proves you're one badass mofo. I think it proves he's tougher than Eubank who is also tough, but Morales takes it.

If Morales was in Eubank's shoes, he would have no problem going to CW to fight Thompson if he could only make CW and would probably beat him too! I know this getting complicated since Morales isn't a natural SMW, but if he was and a Thompson fight made sense, he would not hesitate.

But he probably, probably, wouldn't take the punches Eubank took and stay in the fight like Eubank did or fight back like Eubank did

On the basis that Eubank's chin and heart was like nothing I've ever seen in a ring :)

I think Eubank was one of those handful of fighters in every generation who you feel was wired differently to others, its like didnt feel the pain sometimes. Morales is one of them too.

What convinces me? Maybe it was that bullish expression on Eubanks face after he got caught flush twisting his head right round and then he looked arrogantly right back in a splitsecond at his opponent as if to say 'thats nothing! now its my turn!'

IMHO Eubank would not have remained an undefeated champ for long if he didnt have that chin, he relied on it so much that it accelerated his decline.
