He was far more naturally gifted. Nowhere near as technically skilled, his dad trained him and only ever took him on pads just screaming at him, basically. It was all natural to him. He could only punch with the inside of his glove for a start kid. Now bog off.
He wasn't a skilled fighter as such because he was never taught technique and didn't need to practice it. He was a loose natural fighter.
Roid's chin was a composite of wafer, glass, bird skull and paper mache, Eubank's was made out of titanium and he had a bomb of a right hand too and best believe as soon as he detonated it on that absolute disgrace and embarrassment of a mandible section of Roid's it would be lights out for a fortnight. Eubank would laugh off everything Roid threw at him.
I'm in two minds about Roy's chin. He took a HUGE left hook from Toney and didn't budge, just stared at him. Weird.
Khan ate some huge bombs from a legit banger in Maidana, and that was a healthy Maidana not a weight-drained cadaver like the Toney who fought Roid and who departed 168 immediately after never to return again.
James Toney was a great Middleweight and arguably the greatest Super Middleweight in history. Bernard Hopkins can say what he wants but he knows he studiously avoided Toney at different weights.
I don't think Hopkins was in that class. He was good out of range and being dirty up-close, similar to Ward, but can Hopkins and Ward fight butter smooth at mid range quite like McCallum, Nunn and Reggie Johnson? No way
