Eubank was far superior to Jones in many ways. Take defensively, Jones would actually crook his neck to turn away from shots (even closing his eyes!) whereas Eubank remained poker faced when shots came at him and evaded by moving his head just a fraction of an inch. Jones' uppercuts travelled a few feet it seemed, Eubank's were less than six inches.
And Eubank actually fought numerous savage punchers in his prime and he wasn't a walking PED factory.
Roy could never have been his mandatory. Steve Bunce is talking nonsense. He wasn’t avoided. Roy moved up to LHW when he couldn’t get the Liles fight. Going up to LHW to fight Griffin and Hill was better than trying to fight Eubank who was coming off of 2 defeats against Collins.
We may not ever see a MW division as stacked as the early 90’s: Chris Eubank Steve Collins Nigel Benn Roy Jones Bernard Hopkins Sumbu Kalambay James Toney Reggie Johnson Michael Nunn Mike McCallum Herol Graham Julian Jackson Gerald McClellan Michael Watson
