It would be like a matador against a bull, as Mike side stepped one of Eubank's lunges which often caused him to fall either into the ropes or on the canvas. Totally different class to someone as crude as Eubank.

For the Watson fight ( which I attended ) to have gone the way you IMAGINE it did, the judges would have had to be blatantly crooked before the 11th round stoppage. Watson showed great tenacity, and courage, but only a blind man could fail to see the superior skills of Mike McCallum.

No not really, we can only go by what actually happened. A 1 sided a$s whooping. I see nothing in Watson that would trouble McCallum.
Well that's not reflective of what actually happened in their careers. Or against Toney.

As if back foot ring general Eubank would lead off all the time against McCallum, knowing McCallum barely won a minute against movers Kalambay and Graham, (until Graham's huge legs ran out of gas after six rounds). Get real. Eubank had a brain between his ears.

No question McCallum showed superior offensive skills that night, to the body. One judge had it 6-4 going into the 11th.

Wrong again. Nunn was ahead but Toney was slowing him down with body shots over the later rounds and set the opportunity for the KO which he got.

McCallum himself said 'The only way to beat Eubank is to jump all over him and not let him up for air.' That suggests, in reality, he'd of played right into Eubank's hands, Eubank being the sharp counter-puncher he was.

McCallum today at the Top Rank gym gives fighters DVD's of Eubank to watch and tells them to study the ring generalship; saying that there were very few - if none - who mastered it better.

Nunn completely dominated Toney for nine rounds

Novice Collins had McCallum running away for the last seven rounds, when he changed from boxer to brawler.

McCallum trains fighters at Top Rank gym in Vegas. Mostly amateurs, though.

He asked Eubank Sr for DVD's of his fights when he was training his son years ago so that he could show his fighters Eubank Sr's ring generalship.

McCallum certainly proved his chin in the Watson fight, Watson landed many huge right hands that knocked out many other foes, including the world's top amateurs (John Beckles in 30 seconds), and stopped former world #1 Don Lee, with it.

I'm afraid the obvious answer that is Eubank's supposed back foot generalship didn't do him much good against the naturally smaller Watson did it, until the stoppage? In either fight. MM would just walk him down, and stop him with those famed body shots anywhere from 8 and 10, inclusive. Eubank was another one who simply didn't like body shots, hence the very high protective guard that people complain about Lewis wearing occasionally. Come to think of it, has Eubank even got a belly button, cos for sure no one ever saw it in the ring?:lol:

Joking, I know it was only the waistband of his shorts.

I love how you call it " running away " when Mike moves around the ring making Collins miss and look an idiot, but call it " ring generalship " when Eubank backs away from an opponent.
