He avoided Nunn saying "Who needs a 6'2" awkward skilled southpaw
Also imo he lost to Sugar Boy Malinga as did Benn first time around but Malinga was robbed twice...but when on my Honeymoon Malinga won me some good money as he had a rematch against Benn ,who had become WBC champ & Malinga was his mandatory ... Sugar Boy beat Benn...Plus if Snr ever met "Lights Out" in the ring he would have been complety schooled...

"Eubank's son quit at the finding your pen stage."
This was because Snr knew the he himself at his prime would lose to GGG so Jnr had no chance ...

I've supported Brook a long time, so it somewhat pained me to see it and still somewhat pains me to have to say it, but he did quit, albeit after a spirited rally in the prior round.

I don't believe Eubank ever would've quit, and there's evidence to support that.

He can say what he likes on this subject, far as I'm concerned.

These interviews never get old, even though they're usually just variations on the same themes, Sr. always manages new insights and interestingly candid reveals. I dunno where OP pulls them from, though. @Bulldog24, are these conducted over email or transcribed conversations?

Gym rats don't impress me in boxing, I am more impressed by someone like pernell whitaker that could drink and party in camp and still win the fight. His sparring partners would say they could smell the liquor on him from the night before, and he would still do well.

They intrigue me, the great gym fighters who for whatever reason couldn't fully translate that form to the prize ring, but I get what you're saying.

Oh yeah, I heard when golota was coming up he was destroying everyone in sparring. Too bad he had mental health issues.

How in gods name do you score that for Malinga? I had Eubank winning every round with his jab bar maybe the first two and the 11th, with his head clearly elsewhere (Watson was still immobile in hosp and he’d just killed a guy in his Range Rover!).

I had Malinga beating Benn 7-3 in their first fight when Benn under Graham Moughton tried to become a pure boxer (!!) which was just ludicrous. If I thought Malinga had anything left I’d of picked him over Nigel in the return too (Benn was totally done after McClellan), but he got a gift against leisure centre fighter Trevor Ambrose not long before.

I’ve found that this Johnny Banks Walker guy was used by Leonard for Hagler in 87, doing some digging. And John David Jackson says he’s never been hit so hard as by Banks Walker and was basically out on his feet early in their pro fight, not sure what happened from there in the fight.

Dennis Cruz who Eubank mentions I’ve found footage of v Rocky Lockridge in pro rings and he really doesn’t look anything special….

“A certain fighter came along at the end of my reign and notoriously ducked another fighter, something I would never have done. I even stepped in and took the beating for him because I wanted respect. It was never really about money, not deep down. I wanted the respect.”

Referring to Collins pulling out of Calzaghe fight!

Was wonderful to see him back at the time, but boy did he lack his old spark once the bell sounded

(Hamed hated the fact Sky saw Eubank as the bigger attraction putting Eubanks fight on last after Hamed’s)
