Of course they have. But we are talking about CEJ here. CEJ was a middleweight in deep negotations with GG. Ward on the other hand was never in serious talks and was 2 divisions up. Brook took a chance good on him. Besides, wasnt it Ward that turned down the fight on several occasions? Lets not forget that fact either.

Ward was inactive and rusty and GGG still turned him down. The only reason he moved to LHW is because it was clear GGG was never going anywhere near him. HBO were to blame as well by ushering Ward away and keeping Golokvin safe.
Why would there be serious talks from a side that doesn't want to fight? Ward would still happily fight him right now but Golokvin doesn't accept challenges.

 

Maybe it was a typo on his Twitter feed when he said "My corner doesn't have towels". He might have mean't "My corner doesn't have pens??"
