Great read. Thanks for posting it.

Like him or not (and I personally do like him to paraphrase Nigel Benn) Chris is always a fascinating interview.

Listen Eubank is a great character but he chats so much rubbish you can't take everything he says seriously. Frank Warren has spoken about how manufactured his "gentleman" persona and the frustration doing business with Eubank is about the only think Frank and Eddie have in common. He's an absolute jokeman.

Eubanks stance is that the first pound/dollar that drops must be for the fighter. So if a PPV sold 500,000 from a projected 750,000, Sky had to pay the fighter 375,000 and leave the promoter with 125,000! Or if it sold 800,000, Sky paid 400,000 each. That's why GGG fell through

Negotiating with the Eubanks is a complicated task, at least according to Eddie Hearn.

After Barry Hearn represented Chris Eubank Sr back in the 90s, Eddie decided to work with Sr and promote Chris Jr for a brief period in 2016.

Their relationship ended when they failed to close a deal for Jr to face Gennady Golovkin, resulting in Kell Brook getting that fight instead.

Hearn told BBC 5 Live: “So I was trying to do a deal with Chris Eubank Jr.

“It was me, Chris Eubank Jr and Chris Eubank Sr negotiating a deal. We’d agreed all the terms of the deal.

“Then Chris Sr looked at me and said, ‘Edward, there’s one more thing. In your father’s office is a picture of me punching Nigel Benn. It also has the official scorecards from the fight, you must remove the picture and give it to me. If you do I will sign the deal.’

“So I’m like, ‘Okay, I’ve just given you a load of money and everything you want, and now you want a picture off the wall in my Dad’s office?’

    “‘Yes, this is correct.’

“I said, ‘Okay, sounds alright to me.’

“Went into my Dad’s office, ‘Alright Dad, it was quite painful, but we’ve done the deal. Just one thing, you know that picture over there, can we have that?’

“He said, ‘Well what do you mean?’

“I said, ‘Well Eubank said if you give him that picture the deal’s done.’

“He said, ‘Tell Eubank to go and stick it up his behind, that is my favourite picture in the world and there is no way I’m removing that from my wall.’

    “I said, ‘It’s only a picture, innit?’

“He said, ‘No, no, no, son. Not even up for discussion.’

“So I had to go back and say to him, ‘Chris I’m really sorry, we’ve got a deal, but I can’t deliver you the picture.’

“He said, ‘Then there is no deal because the picture will paint a thousand words and this is part of the deal, a major moment to secure the paperwork.’

“And I just said, ‘Leave me alone, go away.’

“And we’ve never worked together again. No deal.”

Do you really think Eddie went to him for advice and had a Eubank sponsored mobile When Barry was already one of the richest men in British sport

Eubank was a big hero figure to youngsters. Barry Hearn was not (ha).

Good stuff. I can remember him praising Barry Hearn because ''he doesn't treat me like a piece of meat.'' It's funny to think of a young Eddie Hearn. Always get the chills when I think about the second Watson fight. One of the first live fights I watched. Such a tragedy. He was box office.

Teddy Atlas must not have the code. :band:

Yep, link here from Chris Stark with the actual conversation with Hearn. Brilliant story, and hilarious Eubank impression from Hearn:
