Eubank was crap in his fight v Thompson but he was tougher and more resilient than Haye was against Thompson, so would Haye of gassed after building up a points lead against the slower Eubank and do you JR could have done better than his dad against Thompson even though he`s even small at super middle?(I didn`t rate Thomson very highly).
Eubank got hit by tons of shots, he looked really slow, Roy Jones would have toyed with Thompson at cruiser, he was badly schooled in the fundamentals.
Eubanks looked great at cruiser , but styles makes fights and Thompson didn't beat Haye ;Haye beat Haye. Doesn't go 10.
Don't know what happened to Haye against Thompson. Maybe he was over confident and didn't train properly because he seem to run out of gas when Thompson didn't fall as expected but Haye at his best could be pretty explosive at crusierweight. I think he would be the first guy to knockout Eubank.
When Eubank fought Thompson the cruiserweight limit was 190. That extra 10lbs made a big difference, and was the start of the evolution of the division to the Usyk/Gassiev size guys you now see. A guy like Wayne Braithwaite went from being a hard-punching champion to a fringe contender, as he was just outreached and outmuscled by the bigger guys at 200. It's difficult to see how Eubank could overcome a 20lbs+ weight disadvantage on the night against a fighter of Haye's calibre. It's potentially a different story against the younger Haye who was stopped by Thompson and dropped by Lolenga Mock, but a physically mature Haye has too much for Eubank and may well stop him by conventional means.
Not many cruiser weights could have withstood a prime Haye. He was basically the best between Holyfield, and the coming man, who will be crowned in May.
