Benn looked awful against Nardiello and Perez. Slow, easy to hit, and his own punches often depressingly out of range. He kept losing his balance when trying to set himself to punch, probably due to the shadow on his brain (x-ray showed) from GM fight. He still landed some unbelievable punches against Malinga and Collins, that perfectly-timed counter overarm right to put Sugar Boy down and the perfectly-pivoted counter left hook that shifted titanium Collins back a few metres; they were two of the best punches you'll ever see thrown.

In fact, Benn AND Eubank produced some of the best punches I've ever seen in a ring. Usually a sneak right (Eubank on Benn in R7 of 1st fight, and Jarvis, Benn on Sherry/Malinga). Eubank's uppercut to Watson.... Benn's opening right on Barkley and hook on Collins. Eubank's left uppercut on Stretch (wow!)

Neither were fluid, smooth, flowing elites like Nunn, McCallum or Toney, but both had obscene punching AND athletic talent - Eubank's subtle, lightning reflexes and Benn's ducking/weaving under shots and bobbing off the ropes. Eubank's foot speed off the back foot and Benn's foot speed off the front were pretty special, too. (Roy Jones was even closer to superhuman with his totally unorthodox shots and totally unreal speed.)

Collins wouldn't beat either Benn or Eubank in there pomp.

Didn't damage his legacy,he lost the title after a long reign to another good fighter who went on to defend it a fair few times himself. They were decent enough fights as well.

The plan always was for Eubank to cement his legacy at the end of his reign against America's best, but Collins f-ucked that s-hit up.

A child at the circus wouldn't have fallen for it.

To me the fact that Eubank freaked out over a carny mind-trick says a lot about him and in my eyes diminished his reputation.

"You can't hurt me. I done been hyp-MO-tized!!!!"

And Eubank swalled the bait whole.
