If you asses golovkins opponents styles....hes never fought anyone like eubank jr ( strictly meaning his style of fighting)....I think it could be alot closer than what people think...if junior improves his footwork...getting in and out rather than engaging for the first half of the fight....then step on the gas...he could ( all providing he doesn't get ko'd)..snatch a points win.....but for the record...I think ggg late stoppage
There's too much he needs to improve on. I see absolutely no logical way he can win on points and he sure as Hell isn't going to KO Golovkin. He's not shown that he is capable of 'getting in and out' properly or that he can actually take pressure when it's applied to him. I just can't see it. His best win is still his loss to BJS and I don't know that he's actually gotten any better since then
Eubank is too easy to hit. He was stunned v Spike and V Blackwell. Those moments V GGG will result in a KO loss. To beat GGG i still feel you need height reach a granite chin and your own power to dissuade him because he is easy to hit. I kinda thought someone like Froch could have given him a good - fan friendly fight but I cant see Eubank doing the same. Eubank has so far fought one world level fighter and lost. With due respect O sullivan and Blackwell dont prepare you for GGG. Getting in with the likes of Andy Lee, Lemiuex etc might. He needs to step up to some world level fighters fighting GGG is a huge gamble with little chance of winning.
Golovkin actually gets hit pretty easily, problem is he walks through everyones punches they just bounce off him, his stamina also seems to be pretty good. You need to be able to keep Golovkin off you with some pop in the punches which I think Chris does have just not sure he could keep him off for the full 12 rounds, saying that Golovkin might not KO Eubank Jnr either as his chin is also quite handy. I would favour Golovkin but would like to see it.
Eubank is so flawed technically it's unreal. Squares up, back with his head in the air but he has athleticism in abundance. Regarding a fight with Golovkin I don't think it goes 3 rounds. Eubank doesn't have the skill or power to keep Golovkin honest and I truly believe Eubank is tailor made for a spectacular KO. No ragging on CEJ as I've come round to him but there is a reason why apart from Saunders he has yet to fight anyone of note.
Eubank retires in his corner after the 5th round. He'd take a terrible beating. Jr. has absolutely nothing in his repertoire that could trouble GGG.
GGG struggled getting rid of Martin Murray, I think the world is full of GGG sycophants, yes he's decent in a weight class that is not oozing with class or hard men. I would have been one of the few who would think Carl Froch (who loves it in the trenches and back against the wall), at his best my well have caught and disposed of him late. As for Eubank, if he has his dads endurance (which nobody knows yet) then he has a shot, the Eubanks are not for the purist but their unorthodox approach probably has as many positives as it does negatives.
He dominated the entire fight, putting him down twice for the first time in his career and then stopped him for the only time in his career without ever properly going into overdrive. Whilst Murray hasn't set the world alight, this is still a man who many feel beat Sergio Martinez and at worst gave him a very good fight. In fact, I'd say Eubank Jr struggled a lot more with Spike and Blackwell than Golovkin did with Murray.
The one thing Eubank has improved on greatly since the BJS fight is fighting at a decent pace. However, he still makes a lot of technical mistakes and despite looking better since the BJS fight, he has only fought opposition tailor made for him. Against a good technical boxer like GGG, I just can't see him having the necessary tools to win. GGG cuts the ring off instead of just trudging after his opponent, throws feints, uses head movement, has a strong jab and throws in combinations. These are things that Chudinov, Spike and Blackwell generally lack and therefore it will be harder for Eubank to counter GGG than the aforementioned three. Eubank is also wild when leading off and he will find it tough to land his shots if GGG elects to fight smart like he did against Lemieux. Then there is the fact that GGG should be able to hurt Eubank, but I don't think Eubank will have the power to trouble GGG. All things considered, I would expect Eubank to fight cautiously and be in survival mode for most of the fight and trying to nick rounds before he is stopped/pulled out late.
Although Eubank Jr has become much better as I ever imagined after seeing him the first couple of times, he clearly has nothing to trouble Golovkin with. That's probably also the reason why I see a lot of if's and when's here, which looks like hoping for a perfect storm of his best performance ever, in which everything falls into place, with Gennady having a major off day and Jr staying diciplined until the final bell. Serious prediction. Golovkin will stalk and punish him early on, and Jr doesn't make it into the 2nd half of the fight.
