If I was a betting man I would put money on Kessler. Eubank was a fair sized super middle while Kessler was a giant one. Kessler is the superior puncher of the two and possesed the boxing skills to not be out of his league in a tactical match either. Both men were very durable so a fight going the distance is the probable outcome. I could see Kessler winning by UD.
Kessler w&as able to best prime Froch TWICE ( yes !) while past his prime. I believe he has a great chance here because his great jab and sense of distance, not to mention Eubank's bad stamina in the later rds. I could see Chris taking most of the early rds, with Mikkel turning the tide when Eubank starts taking breathers. It's a 50-50 fight.
Eubank is the more skilled, versatile fighter here, with a better resume and an iron chin. I don't see how Kessler could beat him... I would have to pick Eubank for sure.
?????????? What a load of bollocks, sounds like you need to do more research on the man. Eubank was a brilliant fighter who would have had the beating of Kessler.
Eubank was a hot and cold kinda fighter, because of that a couple of his wins were at least controversial. When he was in real trouble of losing he often pulled out that swinging right hand as the ultimate equalizer, but it all depends on wich Eubank shows up and where does the fight take place. On neutral ground I'd favor Kessler 2 out of 3 times.
i like Kessler , good attitude and a skilled fighter but Chris was just that bit better , it would have been close maybe a 116 - 112.
Eubank had a masochistic desire for proving something (stupid) at cruiser against a respected Carl Thompson - who never was a one-punch finisher. Mikkel Kessler is higher than Thompson, got the same reach and has got a fighting weight just below 180 at fight time. He throws punches and he´s got one-punch KO-power. Whatever Thompson did - Kessler could do better.
That's your opinion, not a diffetence. On a more serious note, I'm not sure who would I favor. Kessler is one of my favorite boxers, but he was far from unbeatable. But then again, so was Eubank. And this is a SMW fight we are talking about. Kessler was not just good, he was elite, and if Eubank stood there on mid-range trying to get the better of Kessler, he'd have gotten worse of it. Plus Eubank wasn't some kind of a master boxer that would have schooled Kessler on the outside. Tough fight, but advantage Kessler.
