I see this as being quite one sided but in Eubanks direction. Williams will become too emotionally invested in my opinion and will get picked off and lose a wide decision in a physical fight. Eubank is a strange one for me. Definitely isn’t world class, and never will be, but has found his level in the space just below that and think he will have too much for Williams. Good fight on paper though, looking forward to this one and will be happy to be wrong with my pick. Please say it isn’t on PPV!
Eubank vs Groves was a brutal one sided beat down that showed just how far from world class he really is. A total schooling from start to finish, dropped at least three times like you said (which for some reason weren't scored) and even lost the last round when Groves only had one arm. What then happened to Groves in his next fight against Smith only further highlighted how out of his depth Eubank is at that level. Especially hilarious when before the Groves fight, Eubank sr was saying that after his son KO's Groves, Callum Smith should step aside for his own safety and let Jr rematch Saunders. Beyond deluded. But he still gets hyped way beyond his abilities. Some people even saying he stops Liam William, even though we've just seen him fail stop Marcus Morrison after throwing the kitchen sink at him, who Zach Parker just blew away with ease. If his name was Chris Smith then he would be any more highly regarded than someone like Anthony Fowler.
A real 50-50 fight which is impossible to predict the outcome of. Eubank Jr. is technically clearly best, but Williams has plenty of energy so he will push Eubank throughout the fight. The build up will be fun and if it is broadcast on the regular Sky Sports channel, DAZN will not get many viewers for Conor Benn / Katie Taylor the same evening. Maybe Eddie Hearn should move his show from December 11th to 10th?
I think Eubank may have regressed a bit under Roy. It's hard to say because of the opponents but i think the old Eubank Jr when he was beating Spike would have stopped Marcus Morrison. I'm not high on Liam Williams - I think he's mentally weaker than Eubank Jr who is so wrapped up in his own delusions it's given him this huge false sense of confidence. Williams however looks like he has a bit of power which will make it interesting. He is a bit plodding at times and maybe Eubank will be able to land punches in bunches on Williams's noggin to win a decision. Williams fighting Andrade albeit in a losing battle would have given him some experience he's sorely needed. I think the fight is closer than some think and i don't think Eubank Jr has the fire he once had when he was on the rise beating the likes of O'Sullivan and Blackwell.
Eubank could've taken Morrison out whenever he pleased in fairness. He was looking to get rounds in that night.... numerous times he buzzed Morrison and then instead of going in for the kill he stepped off or went for a walk.
^ Surprised so many had this close. It was blatantly obvious to me that Eubank is on a whole different level to Williams, he has proven many times he is way beyond domestic and European level which is where Williams is competitive. People on this forum just despise Eubank and I think it clouds their judgement a little bit. Those check jab KDs… yet some people still maintain Eubank is a powder puff puncher hahaha. Oh well, I made some money anyway, hope some of you guys did too
