Could you guys tell me some things about him? he seems very interesting to me.... i think hes cool...
Played the role of the great british ecentric with aplomb. Great rivalries with Benn,Watson and Collins made for some exciting fights. Did get some dubious verdicts throughout his career however. One of the few fighters who was honest about ducking other boxers. (Michael Nunn and Herol Graham)
Eccentric, easily offended and very honest. He split public opinion obviously as he was arrogant, cocky, flamboyant and played up to the role. He could box and brawl. He'd be the best character in boxing if he was around now.
World class middleweight and supermiddleweight. Very awkward, granite chin, strong as an ox. Stamina not great sometimes and seemed to fight in spurts.Very eccentric outside the ring. He was unbeaten as a middleweight. Faced prime Nigel Benn twice and came out with a win and a draw from those two wars. Those two guy brought the best out of each other. Also faced Watson, who had previously beaten Benn, twice. First time he got a controversial decision, in the second he won with a brutal knockout whilst a long way behind on the cards. Watson collapsed soon after and nearly died - and a bit of Chris died too... he never again looked for a knockout or tried to finish an opponent in trouble which almost certainly cost him wins against Thompson and Collins. Lost his WBO supermiddle title to Collins in a close fight despite having the Irishman in trouble, and lost a rematch too. When Collins quit when Calzaghe was due his title shot Eubank stepped in to fight for the vacant title vs Joe. Dropped in the oppening moments he took the fight the whole twelve rounds in a competitive match. He then moved up to cruiserweight and twice fought WBO champ Carl Thompson. In the first fight which is often described as a slugfest he lost a close decision. He had Carl half way up ***** street but backed off as he did against Collins. In the second fight he was stopped - possibly for the only time while ahead on the cards due to massive swelling around his eye. Simply one of the very, very best.

thank you. its weird he was so good, and it hasnt been THAT long ago, yet not mentioned much.... appreciate it
This ended tragically but the 11th was one of the best rounds of boxing I've ever seen. And it includes possibly the best uppercut I've ever seen. [YT]wvh9-xr0gOQ[/YT]
Kirk, watch this.... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=CO-jsOiJfxs "Lets have some parliamentary procedure" :rofl Says Benn lacks class, is intolerable and he has his back turned for the whole interview. Eubank was eccentric and actually hated most things about boxing, which is why Benn's manager criticises Eubank for slagging off boxing.
When he was Champ, he was the boxer everyone loved to hate. After he lost the title I felt the majority of fans were endeared towards him and they wanted him to win the belts back. Typical Brit mentality!
Good points. Would be he was a world class operator, won WBO titles at 160 and 168 had quite a few defences, some against duds but they were not all rubbish, his wins over the likes of rochigianni get over looked. He beat Benn at middle, lost imo to him at 168. He was one of the biggest names at the time and could demand purses that out weighed the purses of the American middleweights of that era. bad points, had a stamina problem, took time off to showboat during rounds, but basically just getting his breath back, he also didnt go out of his way to make dangerous fights, he could have fought Jones and Toney, but that was a risk he didnt have to take, Benn, Collins and Watson were on his doorstep, he HAD to face them. IMO both Jones and Toney would have beaten him. For most people you are either a Benn or a Eubank man, im a Benn man myself!:bbb
Hes on some new commercial here in the UK, hes a weird ****er, but he was a pretty good fighter. Hes one of the guys people said Jones ducked, but he would have been destroyed!
god i am falling in love with this rivalry.... im serious.... This content is protected thank you guys for this info... as stupid as it sounds its like a freaking present i just got, looking at these videos, interviews, and reading up... thank you!
