Ahh these were the days! I first got interested in boxing because of Eubank. He was a complete nob jockey and I hated him initially. I was one of the people who tuned into Big Fight Live with Jim Watt and Reg Gutteridge in the hope of watching Eubank get knocked sparko!

However, like everyone else, Eubank's charms and hilariously outrageous character won me over. The 90's were a great entertaining time for British boxing and I believe Chris Eubank was the epicentre of this great era.

Yea, certainly at the beginning Eubank wasn't the most popular of figures. Perhaps slightly in a pantomime sort of way. Benn was the loved one, peoples champion etc...

I liked Eubank at the time, but I was certainly in the minority.

As time wore on people warmed to Eubank and he eventually he became certainly at least as popular as Benn.

I can vaguely remember Benn often being in the tabloid newspapers for various nightclub shenanigans, living the high life, girls etc... Hes a changed man and a born again Christian now though I think......comes out with some....errr......lets say...slightly off the cuff comments...

Yeah, I've got that programme but I copied it to a dvd disc in EP mode & the quality is pretty crap...but I might upload clips of it when they were starting with each other.

I liked him alot, I went to his rematch with Benn at Old Trafford. Although I supported Eubank, I thought Benn won the fight.

He had one of the best ring entrances ever. I also have his autograph.

Not really man, in terms of rivalry, Witter and Hatton are nowhere near being in the same league as Benn and Eubank! The biggest difference of course being that B & E actually managed to get it together and hammer out their differences in the ring several times. Ricky ducking Junior doesn't count, they are just like a couple of spoilt brats, especially Ricky. Even if they get it on, this ain't no Benn/Eubank.

I agree Witter vs Hatton isn't in the same league as Eubank vs Benn. I don't think they have even fought on free tv like Eu/Benn did & I honestly think Witter wouldn't be recognised walking down as street by anyone other than a boxing freak.

incredible round but Watson's corner shouldn't have let him come out for the 12th round. It was obvious he was gone...so sad to see
