Two Thunderous punchers with seemingly fragile psyches, if not chins, if they caught you right and caught you early you may be left wondering what the hell hit you, but if you used skills and could take them to the half way stage their early threat often evaporated .but for the first three or four rounds it was often a case of Handle with extreme care .. Cyclone Hart, he of the legendary left hook, was as history shows rather erratic, when faced with stout opposition, losses to Watts (ko1) Monroe (Pts) and Briscoe (Ko1) showed what part of the philly totem pole Cyclone inhabited, Other losses to Gregory Collins and Gonzalez rubber stamped Eugene's limits as far as world class went, and Eugene folded mentally against Hagler and Antefermo before quitting, having said that I was not unimpressed with Eugene for the first 6 rounds with Hagler, he did have that Slam Bang War-Draw with Briscoe, and looked like a young Thomas Hearns Clone in Blasting out Kitten Hayward, Cyclone, with the right opponent was not at all bad. Tonna had similar unreliability to Hart if forced into a long fight and being on the receiving end, he did not mind dishing it out but taking it could be another matter, The Valdez loss hinted at that, and against Monzon, Tonna didnt do too bad with his wild bullrushes initially, but you could tell Carlos was stayng cool and was on his usual scenic route to a late victory when he caught Tonna on the Back of the Head, Tonna Dropped into a preying position and stayed there, preying for a disqualification victory it seemed, when it looked (to me) like he could of got up and carried on, his prayers were not answered , he enjoyed a Cuts Victory over Minter and a Points Victory over a Subdued Finnegan, but both Beat him in the returns, Quitting against Minter and mentally quitting but seeing through to the end against Finnegan, Ronnie Harris also hot-stepped it to victory over Tonna, But like Hart, if you wanted to accommodate Tonna from the off it could blow up in your face, as potential new French darling, ( to replace Jean Claude Bouttier), Puncher Jean Mateo found out, exiting a two round KO Victim.. So two Sticks of Dynamite sweating and ready to blow, this could be over quickly, Hart seems to have the Heart, but not perhaps the chin ? Tonna seems to have the chin but perhaps not the heart,? who/what would crack first in probably a short do not blink affair ? The Philly Cyclone or the Tunisian Tornado ?
