The only problem with that is that the Europeans and Argentines have been winning the big international tournies lately and the NBA is getting more and more international and less and less American.

    Hype jobs, you ******.

    1. Does that mean that every fighter Floyd beat was "hype job", especially since most people expected Floyd to win. Including me

    2. Calzaghe is going to beat Hopkins pretty badly mate, dont cry when you see it.

    :good

This is devolving into one of the stupidest threads I've seen here.
    How about this:
    Some Americans fighters are good
    Some European fighters are good
Some of each are hyped, or over-hyped
Calzaghe and Hopkins are both good fighters
Let the best man win. No shame to whoever loses.

Thug? not at all, just thought I'd write something equally offensive (okay more so) back to you. If you dont like it, tough ****, dont post up ignorant crap baiting anyone European or with European roots. I know this may come as a shock, but if you make a thread to abuse half the ESB population then there's a slight chance someone will abuse you... say hello to him.

I'll say a little prayer tonight that you dont track me down and beat me up, obviously you're a very dangerous person and P4P rated internet tough guy... in fact, I think i've seen you somewhere before!

PopShotkins has no chance against Calzaghe. If Jermain Taylor beat Hopkins he's getting DESTROYED by Calzaghe, and you won't be here the day after the fight, guaranteed.

Absolutely, this Euro hype talk is getting pretty annoying - americans just give no respect to good fighters over here and that has to end. Hatton is a world class fighter and he has many fans on both sides of the Atlantic, that loss to Mayweather should not hurt Hatton's confidence in himself. Calzaghe is a top class fighter and he was the one to be fed with bums like Kid Fire McIntyre, Pudwill from North Dakota, Manfredo from Providence, RI... Man, Calzaghe is favored to beat Hopkins and even if he doesn't get to do it, he's already at Hopkins level for quite some time - that loss wouldn't prove anything against Calzaghe either.

Calzaghe is the real deal even though he's not close to ATG status, his comp his whole life was crap and he will barely squeak a win out against a 43 year old Hopkins im predicting. The rest are pretty much trash. Zab Judah would own anyone at lightweight probably even Hatton.

But the USA is the be all and end all mecca of boxing. We have the history, the mulitude of fighters, Europeans are babies in this business. They should be lucky there are so many belts so they have a chance to win some.

Hatton would bully judah at 140 even though he as trouble with southpaws. Judah only fights for four rounds anyway.:good

This is something I expect from you, and you are entitled to your opinions. However, to say that Europeans are babies in this business is verging on ridiculous. It also begs for history to be poked into to reveal the facts of how and where boxing came about. If you are under the impression that boxing is basically two men throwing their hands at each other, you could safely say that boxing has no definite origins, but boxing, as we know it, is conducted under a set of rules that originated from England.

I know it's pointless writing this, and I know you might possibly react badly to my post right here, call me a ****** or something, I don't know, but the truth is America wouldn't have any boxing if it wasn't for Europeans. Whilever you speak our language and whilever you fight by our rules, you should at least refrain from posting ludicrous statements about the history of boxing. Show some respect for the game, my friend. There is life and there are great things outside the USA.

I should also point out that the opinions you have on boxing are less likely to hold weight when used in argument because your post tells me that, as an American, you feel superior over other countries. Reading between the lines suggests you are very nationalistic, and therefore auto-biased against foreigners. This is called Xenophobia.
