You are the reason that the USA will not be the worlds greatest super power in a few short years. Monumental stupidity such has yours has a detrimental effect on everything and everyone around it. You are making you own country stupid. Please stop now for the sake of the great country that is the USA, it can't take much more of this stupidity without imploding.

There must be Americans reading that statement and shuddering with embarrassment.

I agree with most of your post, especially when you said "The USA is the mecca of boxing", the Klit brothers realized that if they wanted to be recognized and make the most money possible, the united states was the place to go, so they moved to California and started getting very popular and respected as quality fighters at the time. Wlad said in an interview from the early 2000s, "If you dont plan on fighting in America, then your not serious enough about fighting the best oppenents out there", I dont like Wlad as a fighter, he couldnt be more right when he said that.

That may have applied to the HW division eight years ago but it's not the case today.

Thinking about this, I doubt most boxers even want a celebrity style of life and all the other glitzy bull**** that goes along with "making it in America". Most fighters are just trying to feed their families. Very few get to the very top.

Too much focus is being placed on those at the top anyway, and it becomes boring.

Thats true, my point was that Wlad and his brother Vitali realized what they wanted to become legitimate fighters, so they moved to America and became stars in there own right, Wlad went and played in "Oceans 11", and Vitali became champ a couple years later. There legacy was more important to them, than staying in there own country fighting sub par opposition, and getting little to no press in the united states.

Im not saying America's the end all, by all boxing spot, but if your a quality fighter and want to be more known and legit, America's the place to prove your skills, against most of the time, the toughest opposition in the world. Thats just my opinion, though I'm sure some may disagree.

These posts are amusing. One guy slags on a fighter about his nationality and then a buch of other guys scamble out of their cracks and slag back, then out come more guys to slag on the counter slaggers and it all ends up being a slagfrest.

Boxing is becoming more and more International. I'm American and even I can see that the USA's once dominant boxing scene is becoming a smaller piece of the pie. Fighters need to fight wherever it makes competitive sense. American fighters need to polish up their passports and get some fights outside of the states. Similarly, fighters from outside the US should take more flights in the USA if the competition warrants it. Hell, Ali fought all over the world and it made him the most recognizable face on Earth.

No problem. I was Born Oakland, living in the East bay. I was just using it as a friendly, come on over to America and fight gesture. Guess my marketing idea ain't workin'.
