    Eddie Hearn just tweeted

"Great to welcome our new European Middleweight champ Grzegorz Proksa to the Matchroom HQ this morning"

Lining up a fight against Barker?

Barker was being lined up for him once before, though I know they have always been a bit worried about Barkers height.

Proksa really has come on though and is looking very very good.

I don't think he is an easy nights work for anyone at middle!!!

Proksa is similar to Martinez, maybe not as good.

Definetly a really tough fight for both.

A promoter looks much more professional and established with some foreign talent in their stable.

Is Proksa a Matchroom fighter then? I know he's been fighting over here but didn't think he was signed to anyone.

Matchroom should try and promote him in the US, it's hard to promote a foreign fighter here but Adamek, Wolak etc have good followings over there.

Is fighting for the Euro strap again a step back for Barker at this stage? Wouldn't he rather get a world level opponent, preferably a shot at a belt? Is it more likely that Proksa was at Matchroom with a view to signing for them/cutting some sort of promotional deal with them, rather than as an opponent for Barker?

Yeah I thought he was a Matchroom fighter, kind of like how Albert Sosnowski was/is.

Matchroom have been Proksa's UK Promoter for at least a couple years.

Proksa vs Barker has already been at the early stages once before so it is a viable fight as I mentioned earlier.

I agree though would be better for Barker to get another World level fight!!!

Really?!? Well, noone's right all the time...  Thank you for setting me straight.

I recall the previous talk of Barker-Proksa, but had assumed that they would match Barker above Euro level, now, deliberately to maintain his post-Martinez momentum. Guess we wait and see.

Also has a very awkward style so will not be a popular low reward choice of opponent!!!

I'm obviously a huge fan of Proksa but I am unsure on this one.
