One thing to look at on Boxrec with a British journeyman is..... 1. If he is given a one point win, he probably won every round. 2. If he's given a draw, he won close but clear. 3. If he's given a one point loss, he either shaded it or drew. 4. If he's given a loss by a couple, it was ****ing close. Don't let records deceive you.... it's a common topic for discussion at the bar at small hall shows, I went to one a year or so ago and saw three journeymen robbed, in a total of about 8 fights.
4 fights in a 2 hour show?!?! Absolute madness by Sky standards. I'm interested to see what this John Ruiz superfight is that's coming on next...
:good Yeah, despite the Doran-Maxwell outcome and that wretched octopus battle in Hunt-Seawright I'm glad to have tuned in...just sorry to have missed the first half of Rabchenko-Pryce. This card really wasn't much talked about, was it?
A bit of both. He took on a huge welterweight called Skeete a few weeks back and was smacked around the ring for four rounds but was brave as hell. If he's in against a middling prospect or someone not very good he's always competitive. He's not as good as Peter Buckley, who was 32-250+ when he retired. He's a poor journeyman, the sort that needs throwing out.
Who promoted this show? It is definitely a bonus to get live small hall shows from Britain on Eurosport, even with the bull**** stoppages. I have to say I miss Friday Fight Night. Saturday boxing should only be for the really big cards.
Rob Waterman. :conf Not really a major player (his stable is highlighted by the likes of Roman Greenburg and Mike Banbula) - but he's also a founder/owner of SecondsOut.com
I've just uploaded the Maxwell Doran controversy to youtube I'll post a link for those who didn't catch it.... Shocking Refereeing! :tired
