hopkins who also lost to joe calzaghe....did you just elevate him to commander of the universe? so in one post donaire is american then later in the post he is filipino? :rofl
There is only one place in the world where eating fatty foods doesn't compromise one's life expectancy. I'm glad i'm part of it.
we are talking the 27 eu member states not ****ing russia, kazakstan all of turkey and the rest of the asian nations who want to be apart of europe :rofl
Hopkins is still fighting. Hopkins the current Ring Light Heavyweight champion of the world. CAlzaghe is retired. The vast majority of boxing fans and writers consider Hopkins far and away superior to Calzaghe legacy wise. Donaire is both Filipino and American.
Population wise Europe and America fits well (excluding Russia). Britian has a pop of 60m, USA 300m - per capita Britian has more champions. Anyways America is the foremost boxing country of the world and has the greatest history. But you can not deny they are slipping, call it globalization, the breakup of the Soviet Bloc or the NBA but they are slipping.
I like how the Euros always have to include all of the continent of Europe against one country (USA), but wont dare to compare against the continent of the USA (North America). Mexico alone, has as much champs as the entire European continent :deal
:nono "In 2010 the population is 857 million, using a definition which includes the whole of the transcontinental countries of [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russia"] This content is protected [/ame] and [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkey"] This content is protected [/ame]"
If we count just the EU states then you only have something around 10 champions or so. [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Member_state_of_the_European_Union[/ame] [url]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_boxing_champions#Current_champions[/url] Its mostly Eastern Europe that gives European boxing any credibility, and without them you really are not good at all.
and yet we have haye, khan and froch all fighting within a couple of months for world titles at world title level, all born within 200 miles of each other.
It basically includes Eastern Europe. And if we take Eastern europe out of the equation, europe has far less champions per capita then america.
And my state of Michigan, with a population under 10 million has Cornelius Bundradge, Peter Quillin, Floyd Mayweather, and Andre Dirrell. So sucketh my ****. :good
The home of tennis eh? Well there are 4 major tennis championships and wimbledon is only 1 of them. Hell there are only about 2 grass court tourneys in a year. What about that bloke henman, didnt he reach several semi finals, is that not worth a ****? Murrays british and doing pretty good considering he up against 2 or 3 of the best player maybe to ever play the game.
