After watching AJ and Pulev, a fun fight if you ask me but man why the ref didn't put his pants up and disqualified AJ for always hugging every time pulev reached him, the same thing that klitschko brothers did and destroyed hw boxing spectacle. I noticed the europeans refs always favor tall long fighters and not allow the clinch fight
There is definitely an alternate universe somewhere in which points are more readily deducted for holding, and that universe has a radically different set of champions. That being said, the boxing in this one has a small grappling element, and that is just kind of the way things are. Incidentally, Ali in his second career, and Jack Johnson, were both major holders, and the record for the longest clinch is held by none-other than Hitman Tommy Hearns (or at least it was for many years,) so its not just the Euros. And let us not forget Henry Akinwande, and the great Johnny Ruiz, whose name was synonymous with man-love for so many years.
