    Vys,

While I agree that the absence of fighters from the Soviet bloc skews the comparison, the fact remains that the former where not available and thus cannot be counted. I suspect strongly that several former USSR boxers would have emerged as world class elites capable of competing with the best of the US , or anywhere else for that matter.

Alas, all we have is conjecture in that regard.

No Russian can come close to holding Ali's jock strap.

if we can get a consensus bestfor all weights it would help this is a long span

HWT I mean you can have Ali from Manila to Holmes to Tyson vs Lewis and the Klitschko's Valuev

Cruiser Holyfield, Quawi, Cunnigham vs Adamek, Haye, Mormeck

175 Spinks, Jones, Tarver, Dawson, Johnson, Braxton, vs Dariuz M, Erdei, cant think of any other

168 Jones, Toney, Ward, vs this weight is historically Europes I think Calzaghe is the best 168lber of all time I feel Europe would take this

160 Well Hopkins, Hagler, Taylor, Pavlik, vs Sturm, Abraham, cant think of others though there must have been more

As an American and young its easy to count off Americans but I cant think of many Euros

Though what I have so far are good matchups
