All of Ward's fights were at home. How is that not set up to favour him?

 

Ward was always the most talented of the lot anyway, and he'll prove that against froch. i'm surprised froch has done aswell as he has, so big respect to froch.

I don't see the problem with Ward not travelling? If anything it hurts him. he'll have fought 4 times in the past 2 years come the end of 2011 only once being outside the United States. If he ever manages to take part in some mega fight there won't be people flocking to see him on a worldwide tour, buy his merchandise or tune into fights.

 

Home advantage in every match and Goosens own ref in the Kessler match was a great piece of negotiating by Goosen. Kessler was really sold out by Sauerland.

That being said, It is a fact that it would have been fair had Ward travelled 1 or two times like everyone else.

But people apparently didnt see him as a big threat. Neither did I to be honest.

While MichiganWarrior does have an axe to grind against Euro fighters-- could that be the racialistic angle to which you refer-- he's right about one thing: Ward is the class of the tournament.

The only threat to Ward in the division is Bute.

 

I kinda doubt they would invest in Ward who was the biggest underdog at the beginning.

Hats off to Dan Goosen for being a Promoter.. A real one.. not letting fight marrinate till they spoil, or lining up cab drivers for his fighters to feast on.. Dan went out there and got the best deal possible for his fighter.. to bad the over confident folks from Sauerland didn't see it comming...:bart

So yes, the tournament was set up in a way that immensely favored Ward.
