And how long has Hopkins been at the top?

Calzaghe has always been there too. These guys are coming from nowhere, at the age of 33.

You nobhead. No hes not proven but its the potential hes showing and fashion he sparking everyone in front of him.

Kell Brook will undoubtedly be challenging the cotto's and Berto's of the division.

  3. Yeah, they came from nowhere but are now starting to make some waves. It's not out of the realm of possibilities that we have two or three European belt holders @ welter in the coming year or two.

He's beat 3 challengers for the british title in 9 minutes. You wouldnt call that sparking everyone out?

All of his opponents so far are weak, if he can beat Jennings in 9 minutes, then I'll be impressed.

The point is hes not at european level yet simply because hes not had enough time. He can only beat whats infront of him and hes been sparking them in a fashion. Hes perfomances hae screamed world level and so its only a matter of time.

People never used to look at little Floyd and say "world level? ha, hes not best in america yet."

Fair point about jennings that will be a good indicator of just how good kell is. I really rate jennings and gutted that fight looks like its bin ****ed off.

Altho, Kevn Mcintyre is a quality operator and Kell knocked him the **** out.

Hmmm, im not really sure. Although, there are alot more euro fighters that are at world level than before....

I dont think it will happen anytime soon, but when the good american welters (mosley, mayweather, berto ect..) retire.....

We have to see if their are any good younger fighters to replace them. Because if not, and trends continue, we could see the division becomeing much more competitive internationally

  10. LOL @ that Jennings comment.

  11. Brook is head and shoulders better than Jennings.

    Why is he?

Because he's beat a few bums?

  13. The div. already is competitive internationally.

  14. I saw Jennings against Cotto...absolutely pathetic. Michael Jennings' career is going nowhere fast. If you think Jennings is better than Brook you are only fooling yourself.

I wouldn't say WW is 'our' strongest division by a damn sight. Most of the fighters you've listed would get horribly exposed by the big guns of the division.
