None of those fighters is a top 5 welterweight. Kell Brook has pretty poor basics and will (IMHO) be found out pretty badly as soon as he moves up into genuine world class.

    Mayweather
    Mosley
    PAc
    Cotto
    Berto
    Clottey

Out of the top 6, only 1 guy isnt from the USA or one of its former colonies.....

And that 1 guy lives in the USA....

Dosent seem to international to me

  3. Enlarged for hilarity purposes. And nobody said they were top 5, dolt. I'm simply stating the obvious--that the ones listed are making a name for themselves and will need to be dealt with at one point or another.

  4. LOL! So, they have to live abroad, eh?

  5. Speculative. The sad part is, the "big guns" as you call them, wouldn't give the guys I listed the time of day. Hell, this particular div. is so pathetic that the two best fighters in the sport won't even fight each other.:patsch

But, to act like guys like Cotto, Clottey, Berto, and a few others aren't beatable is foolish.

Jennings would actually be a good fight for Brook. It sounds laughable if you only base it on the Cotto fight where Jennings was out of his league but in the UK and even Europe Jennings is respected as a decent enough fighter. He's beaten Jackiewicz for example...albeit a long time ago.

Jennings is a lot better than anybody Brook has faced so far, much better. Elwell for example is a part-time boxer. Lomax is just a lanky streak of **** with no redeeming features. McIntyre is a good win on paper but everybody knows he has a glass jaw and he was caught cold. Jennings would be a solid test.

  7. Jennings pretty much ran from Cotto that entire fight. Absolutely terrified to engage. If he is your barometer for how well Brook can be or whatever, than you need a different barometer.

While the idea that those fighters are even close to Top 5 WW material is laughable, I do find it intriguing that the elite of the division has essentially given up on the belts.

  9. Well, one holds a major belt and another just won the WBC eliminator match. We will not know whether or not they are elite 'til they face the elite, right?

I don't rank Margrito as long as he dose not have a licence but you have a point.

  14. This thread is obviously beyond your grasp then. ONE of the Euro's is a belt holder and another just won the WBC eliminator...what's so hard to comprehend about that????

Dan Rafael has Aydin and Zaveck in his top-10 welters.

Also, the reason I started the thread was to get some good discourse going about the possibility of the Euros taking over the div. at some time in the future as it seems some of the top welters might have one foot out the door already. It was not meant to imply that the Euros mentioned are the best yet, but rather, can they compete with the best of the best of the division. I hope that clears it all up for you so you can cease and desist with the snarky comments.

But could they beat Floyd, Shane, or Pac?

Never before seen --- Shane looks more devastating in this video
