Featherweight at 15 rounds first match is the Pedroza that fought Lastra and the Arguello that fought Marcel. second match features the same Pedroza and the Arguello that fought Olivares. then the third will be Arguello and Pedroza that fought Kobayashi fighting each other. Who do you got winning this trilogy?
Big fan of Pedroza (Arguello too) and I think he would give Salvador Sanchez a hell of a fight. Arguello on the hand would be a different proposition. Though usually a slow starter I think Pedroza would do well early outboxing Alexis whilst the Nicaraguan studies him stoically. From the 5th he would up the tempo, land hard to the body and start timing Eusebio with right hand bombs. I see a brave Pedroza being stopped in the 10th.
Arguello late stoppage or UD Pedroza had great stamina and usually turned it on the second half of a fight. The problem, here, is that Arguello also had great stamina. He also had more power and a better chin than Pedroza.
Pedroza presents the same tactical issues Vilimar Fernadez , Ernesto Marcel, and Arturo Leon presented to Arguello. But Pedroza was a much better fighter than those three. This is a real tricky match up for Arguello, Pedroza was super slick defensively, could counter with his eyes closed, and could get in and out of range easily , especially against a slow footed fighter like Arguello. I'm going against the grain on this one. Styles make fights, Pedroza wins 2-1 against Arguello.....
Disagree. Pedroza didn't move nearly as much as Fernandez and he isn't like Marcel either. Leon was just tough as nails and I would argue that Marcel was more talented then Pedroza. If Lockridge and Laporte can find his chin Arguello will too but Arguello hits much harder.
That's what I thought of, Arguello also kinda struggled on the inside at times and Pedroza would exploit that.
They'd be great matchups. I think Pedroza would lead after 6-8 rounds but Arguello would start pegging him back. Though a great feather i always had the feeling Arguello might have been even better at 130. He was still strong all round at 135 too. I'd slightly favor Arguello's power and precision. Pedroza winds up a bit at times and Arguello would be looking to take advantage of that.
