Both were long-time champions in similar time periods.

Wonder why Gomez chose Sanchez, instead of Pedroza, to "move-up" against?

Who would won if Pedroza-Gomez had fought in late 1981?

If nobody gets disqualified early, I'd take Pedroza.

I think Pedroza out toughs Gomez. Pedroza was dissed by the boxing people for quite a while because he fought ugly. Yeah he fought ugly, and dirty, but he was tough nut who knew how to win.

Well said and I agree. Wilfredo was special but he never fought anyone just like Pedroza who along with being able to fight full steam every round knew every punch in the book, was tough as nails, had good speed and decent power in both hands and demoralized many opponents by getting in dirty punches and actions often. Gomez would thump in some of his thunder but I believe Eusebio would take it and wear him down for the dec. and possible late stoppage.
