Evander Holyfield at 199, could have cleaned out most of our top ten.

I strongly disagree that Holy could have cleaned out most of the top 10 heavies today weighing 199, could any boxer weighing 199 beat most of the top 10 heavies in today`s game?

Donno bout Fury and Aj, but I think Holyfield probably clears the rest out.. maybe Joe Joyce keeps him off with his Jab? I donno. Holyfield was like a bouncing terminator, hard to put anyone outside of Fury/Aj above him. And probably only because of size.

Are we talking weighing in at 199.
    Or weighing 199?

No heavyweight weighing 199 is going to have a chance of upsetting the modern era.

    Weighing in at 199 (non-same-day)?
Ali came in not far off that in the second Henry Cooper fight @201.5lbs (same-day, I think). So you'd have to give him the best chance after rehydration.

But even then, if you look at who the top heavyweights were each decade. The dominant one's were generally the biggest among their peers.

If Usyk gets to walk into the division as the defacto #3 I see no legitimate reason to doubt Holyfield

Wilder regularly gave up 25-30lbs, Usyk was close to 40 below Chisora. Versus Fury, 199 could be giving up closer to 80 lbs.

Maybe that's too far, but if it is you'd think one of the very many NFL/college football washouts who play a contact/endurance sport and are 80lbs heavier than Fury would do enough boxing training to dominate. If they ducked Fury they would be 100lbs bigger than their opponents, wouldn't that make up for the late start?

I suspect returns on extra weight begin diminishing fast after 200lbs and that only a handful ever can really wield the extra size to make it worth the hit in speed and endurance.

Why weighing 199? His heavyweight prime was at least 10lbs heavier

199 at the weigh in? So he could conceivably be 215 on fight night? I'd say he's clean out everybody except AJ Fury and Usyk without too many problems. He'd have a good chance against those three too. This era is not good.

Holy bulked up from cruiser to 205 when he fought Bowe why the hell would he weigh in at 199 then be 215 come fight time? Holy had to increase weight training to get to 212 for his rematch with Bowe and probably had to use roids to do it, Holy was legit 205 v Bowe, a natural cruiser.
