    Against Vitali Klitschko.

I see what he's trying to do here. You can't pay child support if you're dead:patsch Evander needs to quit before he really does get hurt.

Klitschko is the only champion Holyfield stands a chance against. He's still a better fighter than Briggs, so it's not the worst option for either side. Obviously Holyfield should retire but if he's intent, it's probably the best fight.

I know it is highly unlikely, but imagine if he won? would the real deal go down as a top 5 atg?
realistic prediction = wide decision for klitschko followed by evanders death several hours later. i really hope this fight doesn't get made. a legend like holy deserves protection

Why Vitaly? He's too tall and difficult for an old timer like Holyfield to outbox, and he's got too much steel in his jaw for Holy to knock him out.

Wouldn't Evander fancy his chances against Wlad? Or at least Haye. He's have a better chance against either, compared to a fight with Vitaly

It's certainly possible, if extremely unlikely. Vitali has looked past his best recently, and Evander has shown he's still a top 15/20 heavyweight even now, which says more about the state of the division than him really. It wouldn't be an easy fight, he'd provide more resistance than Kevin Johnson or Sosnowski managed, at least he will go out on his shield. Obviously he should retire, but everyone's been saying it for years and he's still fighting. So all we can hope for is that he makes some money and doesn't get seriously hurt.

Both Briggs and Holyfield can't fight Vitali in October but they can eye this alright. Vitali doesn't have a name (besides Valuev) to fight against after beating Arreola and both Haye and POovetkin eyeing Wladimir. Holyfield doesn't have a better chance than Briggs but he has a better chance of seeing this one happening.

I love the man and followed his career in my youth, but Evander Holyfield has absolutely no business in the ring with either Klitschko. I'm sorry, but the shows over. At this point it would be borderline unethical for any promotor or governing body to sanction such a fight. Sure, he can go on fighting guys like Botha, Madalone, ruiz, etc, until he's well into his 50's, but that doesn't make it right nor justify doing it.

Although I have been a life long boxing fan, and have an unhealthy addiction to boxing forums, I really think that its time for me to end my fascination with boxing.... When I see that men who are pushing 50 years of age and are decades past their primes are being talked about as title challengers, along with journeyman like Audley Harrison fighting for belts, then its really time to call it quits... Will I follow through with this? Maybe not today nor even next week, but my days as a boxing fan are numbered.

He fought and beat Sanders, Puritty and Peter easily enough, and they all had Wlad on the canvas to varying degrees
