Evander Holyfield "Foreman Hit Me Harder Then Anyone"

Both hurt him and both did not put him down. And Holyfield was not that washed up when he faced Tyson.

What I don't understand is most people rate Foreman as one of the two hardest punchers of all time, yet when Holyfield confirms that he hits harder than some others who are not rated in the top 2 hardest punchers of all time, suddenly it is hard to believe.

 

That's probably true about Foreman, but at the same time IN MY OPINION, the ko shot Bowe hit Holyfield in the 6th of their 3rd bout was harder than anything Foreman hit Evander with.

 

I don't think it was that big of a punch, not necessarily even bigger than the uppercut he was hurt with in their first fight. Evander came forward wildly throwing punches and got caught with a punch he didn't see coming.

 

Foreman is one of, if not thee hardest hitting heavy ever.
Don't they say the last thing to go is the punch?

I do too. I think this forum can be too skeptical at times and think there is some alterior motive when things might just be exactly as they are stated.

I think that LL could have hit Evander much harder than he did, if he had not been in that alt. "chess player" cautious mode that he was in...and that may have been the hardest, had it happened, than anything else Evander could have been hit with. The hardest hitter dosen't always land the hardest punch on a given opponent. Most on the forum would probably say that Joe Louis was the hardest puncher of the heavyweights..possibly? Well if that's the case, then who hit Jersey Joe Walcott the hardest...Louis or Marciano? I would say that single right hand of Marciano's was the hardest that Walcott was ever hit with, rather than the series of punches that Louis ko'ed Walcott with in their rematch in '48...but Louis was the hardest puncher of all heavies, right? Just an example.

 

Not necessarily. Walcott said that Marciano was a harder puncher but Louis was the better puncher.

 

Its because of the way Foreman delivered his shots. They were driving punches with a lot of weight and force behind them, not snapping punches. Those type of shots you feel through your whole body and hurt a lot more.

 

Yeah you could be right. Then again, who understands what Toney says nowadays anyways? All jokes aside I hope he retires soon.

 

I would disagree ... when Holyfield was KO'ed by Bowe he was exhausted. He was suffering from Hep B and should not have even been fighting ... look at how exhausted he was a few ronds earlier when he had Bowe out and could not finish the job ... the ko loss to Toney should be thrown out all together ...

 

Only thing Toney hits harder than Foreman is the staff at McDonald's when they bring a regualr meal instead of a large size for James!
