I don't completely disagree with Holyfield. Pacquiao threatens Floyd's brand...not necessarily Floyd as a man. These guys have been in combat hundreds of times in their lives. You can't sustain a career as a fighter if you are afraid to fight. Fighting is not the issue.

If Floyd wins a close fight, he will have people saying he lost...see Castillo, Maidana, and De La Hoya as examples.

Pacquiao will get accolades for just stepping up...win or lose. If Floyd dominates Pac, the critics will say..."well he should've." Floyd can't win, even if he wins. He understands this, and likely wants to squeeze every dime out his career before he takes that risk to his brand...again. I say again, because, he made a sincere effort to make that fight in 2009-2010. But, guess who was protecting his brand and newfound superstardom at that time (with his promoter's influence)...the guy who walked away from a blood test.

Had Pacquiao agreed to that simple request, we would be talking about how great that fight was, not how we wish two past prime greats would face off to complete their legacies.

Holyfield has nothing to be envious about, especially when it comes to Mayweather.

If Mayweather had a ounce of Holyfields grit to go along with his skillset then he would truly be TBE.

Instead he has to get pre pubescent boys and wiggers to try to make the claim for him.

I don't think that's it. If Pac loses, he's already lost before so losing again is not a big deal. It will simply mean he wasn't as good as Floyd and thereby legitimizing his legacy as one of the best ever.

Floyd on the other hand it's a big deal. People have always questions the legitimacy of his legacy. If Floyd loses, it will mean that the pundits were right all along. It will look like it was all a fraud. Floyd has everything to lose.

That's why we've seen every excuse in the book, even resorting to slander. Has there ever been a man whose resorted to the level of low tactics that Floyd has used before?

Notice how the PBF diehards are starting to say its "both" Floyd and Pacs fault? haha pathetic

80% of esb (and a long list of atg fighters) know Floyd dont want it.

At the end of the day? No one.

Pac acquiesced to that '1 request' in 2011 and we've still seen no fight.

this is the ***** excuse when someone with no agenda express their opinion.

    it must be jealousy.

holoyfield on point. theftjr knows his shoulder roll wont work so he has to rely on his offense.

offense vs. offense, pac all day and twice on sundays.

this is like heat vs. spurs.

miami'\s ball trapping defense (shoulder roll) didnt work bec the ball didnt stay for split second, spurs kept passing the ball around. there was nothign to trap. (south paw).

so now, heat had to outshoot spurs. rest is history. that was a beatdown.

Well...like I said his "brand" is threatened by Pacquiao. Pacquiao has nothing to protect, right now, he's fallen from grace, and he has financial matters to address.

But, in 2009 -2010, Pacquiao did, and instead of addressing the matter in the ring and taking his respect, he took Floyd to court. That sounds like a man who wants to avoid the risk of getting his bubble burst. A loss would have meant no 1 mil avg PPV's with a promise of a Floyd fight (they had no intention of making) looming. There would not have been FOTD accolades, either.

There was nothing wrong with asking for additional testing. I don't care what the motivation was behind it. Where Floyd's team went wrong was insinuating Manny was a PED cheat (they are not the only ones to say this) in the media. It was disrespectful and created tensions before they even started to negotiate. Where Manny's team went wrong was looking guilty.

Bob Arum made some of the greatest fights in history while floyd never had a great fight in his resume.. His fights are boring and forgettable

Notice the connection here? All of these bitter ex fighters have squandered their fortunes ... Holyfield, Toney, Hagler and of course Pacquiao. They're so angry at boxing, even though it's their own doing, they're attacking the man who is the FACE of boxing making $32M+ per fight. They all need to go to broke-ass anonymous and stop hating.

I'm surprised Holyfield can hear rumours.
